and technology-enhanced (TE), ≈ 15%– Need to compare other subjects use of TE

require more complex thought than previous years (2002, 2003)

Vertical Curriculum Development• VA DOE has posted drafts of a vertical outline for Alg I,
Geometry and Alg II– No plans to update them– Expects schools to use them as a starting point
• We need to develop vertical curriculum maps– County had planned on doing it, but Dr Rhodes moved on– Need to know what our students are supposed to know
coming into our courses– To support MMS’s advanced math initiative• These students will not get portions of 7th and 8th grade
SOL requirements• Alg I and Geometry teachers need to be aware of the
additional topics that they will need to cover
Assignments• Vertical Curriculum maps for all our courses– Geometry example is done– Alg I, Alg II, AFDA, Math Analysis, Calculus, Statistics
• SOL Example questions based on the EPAT examples in this packet– Five questions for our next meeting• Four MC and 1 TE style of question
• Material will be posted to my QUIA vertical team website as I get it for peer review and comment
