2012 Asia Pasific Project Management (APFPM) & IAMPI Seminars & Conference It is generally understood that the physical infrastructure of a country is a major factor conditions that support the competitiveness of a nation. In line with this understanding and in the framework of a series of activities "Construction Indonesia 2012" which have been held by the Ministry of Public Works of the Republic of Indonesia and National Construction Services Development Board (LPJKN), the IAMPI and APFPM will held international seminar on the theme of "Competitive Enhancement-Accelerating Green infrastucture Development". Good quality infrastructure is very important element for a country in develop themself in a sustainable ways . In a global interaction , all nations require to have good transportation, sanitation, energy and communication systems which could be provide a decent and appropriate standard of living for all its people. In fact, many developing countries have inadequate infrastructure or do not meet the factors efficiently and effectively in accordance with the standards of global competition, including Indonesia . It certainly can inhibit growth and economic progress or hinder improved welfare for the country. The definition of Green Infrastructure or sustainable infrastructure development is the infrastructure development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the reduction and the "right" of future generations to meet their own needs without the burden of debt or obligations to settle a result of commitments made by previous generations. This can be done by applying the principles of minimizing the use of non-renewable resources, minimize environmental impacts, protecting biodiversity, and the use of renewable resources in a smart and sustainable ways. Some experts in the construction industry have been invited to present his views how to build and develop a sustainable physical infrastructure of the country, in this case the infrastructure of roads and bridges, seaports, airports, power plants, water supply, waste water treatment and waste solid.
