Hey guys! I apologize that this newsletter is a lot later than planned, but here it is! I tried a different style but it ended up a lot darker looking than I thought. Oops. Hopefully you guys still like it and it ends up better next time. D: Don’t forget that you guys can send it articles to be in the news-letter as well. It can be on anything that you think would be helpful toward Key Clubbers. You guys can also send me pictures. Send eve-rything to [email protected]. We have had a fun year so far and now the Key Club fun does not stop there! Soon enough we will have more events and fun so-cials so look out for that. Lots of fun events are at division level so I hope to see many more Key Clubbers attending those, because you guys miss out on so much if you don’t! (Like buying that cutie at Date Auction or Winter Formal) Also, if you guys ever have event, fundraising, or volunteering ideas, be sure to let us know and let’s all work together to make this club even stronger. Anyways, officer elections are coming up on the 31st so I hope everyone attends this very important meeting because we will be de-ciding who will be leading you all next year. It’s very important! -Ingrid Channa, Editor

The president is like the overseer for club administration, leads the club, runs the meetings, and makes sure everything is run-ning smoothly. They provide support for everyone. Sometimes they plan events as well and develop the club program. They also act as the link for this club to many outside parts such as

The vice president assists the president and other officers with their duties. They are sort of like a jack of all trades. In case the president is not around, they will take over president duties such as running the meetings. They provide immense support and oversee and plan as well.

The secretary keeps track of the club meeting minutes and re-cords everything. They keep track of member’s hours, turns in monthly MRFs to show that our club is running properly and smoothly, and keeps club materials organized and at hand.

The treasurer maintains the finances for the club, keeps the money safe, and organizes the club account. They collect dues, Fall Rally money, or any other money associated with the club. They prepare and review the budget, keep financial records, and disburses funds.

Public relations also acts as the link for the club to outside sources, such as Kiwanis, the division, and other clubs. They must communi-

cate with everyone and spread the word about Key Club while making sure the club keeps a good image.

The historian is another word for the photographer for the club. They take pictures of members working and volunteering to keep

record and memories of club events. It helps for publicity and memo-ries which also works towards the club’s image. They can then organ-

ize the images into galleries and scrapbooks for others to enjoy.

The editor is like the writer for the club, which works in close con-junction with the historian to spread publicity about the club. They

release articles of the club’s events and spreads the word to help maintain a club image. They also write newsletters or maintain the

website to make sure the members are informed.

What: An annual Toy Drive Storytime at the library! Date: December 1st, 2012 Time: 10:30 - 12 (Archibald), 1:30 - 4pm (Paul A. Biane) Location: Archibald or Paul A. Biane Library

With Christmas time in the air, everyone was definitely in the spirit of giving as the sparks of love toy drive came around. Many donated their toys to the more needy and Key Clubbers got to assist the li-brary on various tasks for the event.

With Halloween just around the corner, LOHS and ALHS came and worked together to organize a Halloween Social for members of each club to meet, bond, and have a fun time as well. Although beginning a bit timid, eventually the crowd came together for several movies together, dances together, socializing, pictures, and contests /games. It was defi-nitely a much needed break from other volunteering activities, and was definitely a fun way to celebrate the holiday—with the fellow giraffe fam-

What: Assisting kids with various activities while listening! Date: Wednesday and Thursday December 12-13th When: 3:30-5 Wed, 3:30—6:30 Thursday. Location: Paul A. Biane Library/Archibald Storytheatre During the holidays, many elementary school choirs perform. As officer elections are coming around, so were LTG elections. LTG stands for Lieutenant Governor, who oversees several clubs all within one division. It is a highly prestigious, rigorous position filled with overflowing responsibilities. However, candidates were ready to handle the task as they all ran for LTG at conclave. Each candidate gave their speech followed with a caucus or questioning session about their term within a certain time frame. Delegates (usually 2 from each school) get to vote for LTG. Thus, we would like to congratulate AMY HE as our elect for the new year! Her term will officially be imple-mented/started at DCON.

On a sunny day that could not have been any-more perfect, enthusiasm and excitement filled the air as Key Clubbers from all around the Cali-Nev-Ha District poured into Six Flags to experience one of the greatest Key Club events of the year—Fall Rally South on the 10th of November. Spirit battles abun-dant, crazy people in tutus, face paint, hats, capes, were just a small portion of the extraordinary ex-perience that day. Free hug signs were at every turn, and the enveloping cheers could carry anyone up into the excitement as well—even if they were quiet, reserved people at heart. People were everywhere riding rides, chanting cheers, and any shame left was tossed out the window. During this day, blocks of color were domi-nant as everyone worked together in their division to practice cheers and bring their greatest spirit to bring the spirit stick. Because the event is so large, it is divide into four sessions, with our Division 15 put into the last general session. Division 15 reached an all new peak at second place, so close against Divi-sion 35 West at third, and Division 10 South as first. Nonetheless, we picked up ourselves, wiped off those giraffe tears, and cheered again to spread the love for our division family.
