DL Student CommentsI like the introduction to the course as it is very different from the other online courses I have taken. I am very excited about the assignments because I have been requesting these types of interactions, assignments, and activities in the UVic distance [name] program.

I think to have a video of an instructor to go over the outline and welcome students to the class is great!

I am just finishing up 2 online courses at [major online university] right now and I hope that they will start to implement this technology into some of their courses.

DL Student CommentsPast experiences sitting for 3 hours in a lecture …everyone knows that sitting still for three hours  is not an ideal learning situation, have left me salty. Which brings me to why I’m really about this class- I’m tired of expecting and being expected to expect learners to fit the magic classroom mould (that, in my opinion, not very many people actually fit in) and I’m excited to learn about the new technologies that will allow for flexible learning situations.

DL Student CommentsI also just want to share how weird and awesome I think it is that I can watch my professor in Victoria, guest lecturer Booth in Alberta, the slides for his talk, and take notes, and email my roommate a Depeche Mode video from YouTube, all from my kitchen in Montreal.
