Completely renovated in 2004 as an Art Deco-inspired showplace, the Tower Theatre is Central Oregon’s premier stage for the performing arts. With 465 seats, it’s the perfect place to experience the best in music, drama, dance and comedy.

The Tower Theatre Foundation was created in 1997 as a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. Our goal is to make sure the theatre raises the money necessary to fulfill its mission to enliven and enrich the community with diverse educational and entertainment events.

This season, we again bring the world to Bend in a series of exceptional, up-close-and-personal performances. Combine our shows with the unique shops, galleries and restaurants in beautiful downtown Bend to make a special night out for you, your family and friends.

Blue Haze’Round About MidnightBirth of the Cool

Miles Davis Experience: 1949-1959 Thursday October 27, 2011 Tickets: $30 / $35

A multimedia musical production celebrates the most influential jazz musician of the 20th Century through photos, film clips, beat poetry, and live performances by 29-year-old trumpet phenomenon Ambrose Akinmusire (Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition winner; protégé of Terence Blanchard). This collaboration with Blue Note Records recreates Miles’ musical development year-by-year.

With their unique blend of soul, funk, jazz and rock, 43 years touring and 20 albums, Tower of Power’s horn-driven groove has underscored a generation of contemporary music. This promises to be one of the most dynamic shows to ever hit the Tower stage. But all you “Bumpsters” already know that!

Peter Yarrow Saturday January 21, 2012 Tickets: $40 / $45

Performance Sponsor: Steve & Cynde Magidson

He rejuvenated and redefined the 1960s folk music scene as the creative force behind the seminal trio Peter, Paul and Mary. Yarrow’s career of social activism embodies the extraordinary effect music of conscience can have on a country and the world. That lifelong calling, now perhaps in its most vital phase, takes center stage at the Tower.

In a remarkable holiday event, these living legends of gospel music mix spiritually-rooted Christmas standards with their signature songs for a roof-raising evening. Honored by the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Grammys, PBS and Broadway, the Blind Boys’ extraordinary achievements show no signs of diminishing.
