Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, from which the Meaningful Use program and its funding originates within the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)

• GAs Network of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs)

• 22 GAPHC FQHCs with 72 sites are currently live on EMRs– 13 are using eClinicalWorks– HIE Interoperability among all 22 Centers

achieved through eClinicalWorks “EHX”– All 26 Centers to be on EMR end of 2010– Creating a state wide HIE of FQHCs

Georgia Partnership for TeleHealth (GPT)

• 200+ rural and specialty sites within the GPT network.

• Over 175 specialists, representing 40 specialties.• 8 encounters in January 2006 • 9,973 encounters in 2008 • 31,040 encounters in 2010.

When fully realized, the program will enable all rural Georgians to access healthcare within

short distances of their homes!
