• Halina Misterka – PMA Archivist

• completed her education in Poland. Since 2000 Mrs. Misterka is the Archivist at the Museum, organizing and overseeing the vast and varied collection of documents and valuable papers.

• Geraldine Balut Coleman, PhD

• Geraldine Balut Coleman received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Detroit and her doctorate from Loyola University Chicago. She has been a high school mathematics teacher for over 34 years, of which 28 years have teaching at Loyola Academy, a Jesuit College Preparatory High School, located in Wilmette, Illinois.

•  Dr. Coleman is a member of the Board of Directors of the Polish Museum of America (PMA) and the Women’s Board of the University of Chicago Cancer Research Foundation. Additionally, she is an editor and a reporter for the POLISH AMERICAN JOURNAL, a long-established national monthly newspaper.

•  She is actively involved with the Legion of Young Polish Women and the Polish Women’s Alliance of America (PWAA). She is also a member of the Polish American Historical Association (PAHA), the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America (PIASA), and the American Culture Association.

•  She has given professional presentations throughout North America on subjects ranging from Polish Language Schools, the education of the Polish-born and the Polish American student, and the growth of contemporary Polish folk dancing. Dr. Coleman worked extensively on establishing student exchange programs between Jesuit high schools in the Chicago area and Poland. She received the coveted outstanding educator award for “building bridges between cultures and people” from the Piotr Skarga, SJ, High School of Nowy Sącz, Poland, as well as the “Educator of the Year” award from Northeastern Illinois University. She successfully chaired the renovation of the Paderewski Room at The Polish Museum of America.
