Songs of Pi Lambda Phi
Jolly Laddies (To the Tune of There’s a Tavern in the Town)
We are Jolly Laddies, Jolly Laddies we,
And firm united is our com-a-ra-de-rie,
So we’ll all join in, to make the wel-kin ring,
While to Pi Lambda Phi we sing.
So let’s join in jolly chorus,
While our Youth is still before us,
Let us ev-er joy-ous be.
Pi Lamb-da Phi inscribed in ev’ry loy-al heart,
Fra-ter-nal friendship till in death we all do part.
So we’ll all join in, to make the wel-kin ring,
While to Pi Lambda Phi we sing!
Brother Mine Forever
(To the chorus of “Keep the Home Fires Burning”)
Brother mine forever,
We are bound together,
By a bond that stronger grows
As years roll by.
Mystic words unspoken,
Holy vows unbroken
Holds us faithful to the tie,
Of Pi Lambda Phi.
When the days are dreary,
When the heart grows weary;
Tho the dark clouds of despair,
May hide the sky,
I shall ne'er be friendless,
For our love is endless;
Even death can't break the tie,
Of Pi Lambda Phi.
National Anthems
Canada O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
United States of America Oh, say can you see,
By the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed
At the twilight's last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars,
Through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched
Were so gallantly streaming
And the rockets' red glare,
The bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there.
O, say, does that
Star-Spangled Banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free
And the home of the brave
THE CREED OF PI LAMBDA PHI
T HAT ALL MEN ARE CREATED FREE AND
EQUAL.
T HAT NO SOCIETY OF MEN CAN FLOURISH
UNLESS MEMBERS OF THAT SOCIETY ARE
ENDOWED WITH THE OPPORTUNITIES AND
PRIVILEGES OF FREEDOM.
T HAT FREEDOM IMPLIES THE ELIMINATION OF
PREJUDICE – THAT THE ELIMINATION OF
PREJUDICE MEANS A BETTER UNDERSTANDING
„TWIXT MEN.
T HAT IT IS INCUMBENT UPON ME TO FIGHT FOR
SUCH FREEDOM EVEN WITH MY LIFE.
T HAT IT IS INCUMBENT UPON ME IN MY
PERSONAL LIFE TO BE DEVOTED TO THE HIGHEST
STANDARDS OF HONESTY AND JUSTICE.
T HAT BECAUSE MY COUNTRY IS DEDICATED TO
THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF FREEDOM AND
JUSTICE FOR ALL MEN OF ALL CREEDS, I HEREBY
PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO MY COUNTRY, AND TO
ITS NATIONAL SYMBOL.
