Welcome to the 8th Edition of the Phuket International SoccerTournaments. These Sevens tournaments have grown to bethe most popular in South-East Asia with an increasedparticipation this year.

We were looking forward to unveilinga new playing venue this year.Unfortunately it will not be completedin time for this year tournaments.Fortunately we will have access to theFIFA Tsunami complex again, thevenue for our past two tournaments.

We welcome some new sponsors this year with BangkokAirways, Phuket International Academy, Adidas Thailand,Two Chefs Bar & Grill, All 4 Diving and Jones Lang LaSallejoining us and we also acknowledge our partnership with thePatong Hotel & Resort.

Our party venue relationships continue with our long standingsupporters, the Taipan Discotheque and Soi Crocodile, thenSeduction Beach Club for “After Tournament Parties”.

We are also pleased to announcethat this year’s tournament willsupport a local charity in Women’sWill Power Phuket Charity Group.WWP is a group of professionalwomen who live and work in Phuket.Their aim is to raise funds for helpingthe victims of abuse to help themtake hold of their lives and help themto improve their future.

Their money is raised though the sale of charity calendars atthe venue for 299 Baht. Please dig deep and help this groupcontinue the fantastic work they are doing in Phuket.

This years’ tournament is tinged with sadness due to thetragic loss of a good friend to many of us and a greatsupporter of 7s tournament in Asia, Ian “Iggy” Gray. Ian whowas synonymous with the successful Team Bondi Masterssquad, tragically passed away earlier this year. To recognisethe contribution of Iggy we will hold a minute silence prior toTeam Bondi’s first game and the O’40s Phuket 7s Cup willbe named the “Ian Gray Cup”.

It’s your tournament and your holiday, so enjoy thecamaraderie and what Phuket has to offer.

Play in the spirit that these tournaments are designed forand enjoy the experience.
