141st Commencement Exercises:
The Commencement Exercises will take place on Saturday, June 26, 2010. Due to the number of graduates, the ceremony will be divided into two parts.
Main Ceremony at 7:30 pm on the Green Field
The President will award the degrees.
Individual Ceremonies at 8:30 pm
The diplomas will be distributed by the deans in individual ceremonies organized by each faculty in the following locations:

Hippocratic Oath
In our profession it is a custom, established more than two thousand years ago, that all those admitted to the honors of the profession must first expressly take upon themselves its obligations. Now, therefore, in behalf of your elders, I call upon you to take, as we have taken before you, the oath which bears the name of Hippocrates.
“I do solemnly promise in the presence of God to be true to this declaration.
I will be loyal to the ideals of the profession of Medicine and to its tradition of service to all human beings.
I will follow that treatment which according to my ability and judgment I consider for the benefit of my patients, and will abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous.
I will give no deadly medicine to anyone if asked, nor will I perform an abortion or any operation for a criminal purpose.
In the presence of epidemics or other danger I will not allow fear of personal harm to turn me from my duty.
Whatever I see or hear in the lives of people which ought not to be spoken abroad I will keep secret.
In whatsoever house I enter, it shall be for the benefit of the sick to the utmost of my power, holding myself aloof from any act of corruption.
In purity and uprightness I will pass my life and practice my Art.
While I continue to keep this oath inviolate may it be granted to me to enjoy life and the practice of the Art respected by
people in all times.“
The Engineer’s and Architect’s Oath
“Using the heritage left by my professional forebears, I dedicate myself to the pursuit of knowledge and the search for truth in the extension of the benefits of my profession to humanity. I will strive always to disseminate what professional knowledge I acquire. And I will fully accept my responsibility for the instruction of younger members of my profession.
Zealous of the high repute of my calling, I will strive to protect the interests and the good name of any member of my profession.
In all, I pledge integrity and fair dealing, tolerance and respect, and devotion to the standards and dignity of my profession. I gladly accept the obligation to use my special knowledge and expertness to serve humanity with complete sincerity.
I will strive faithfully to fulfill the solemn obligations of my profession and to govern my life and practice by its Canons of Ethics.”

“I solemnly pledge myself before God and in the presence of this assembly to pass my life in purity and to practice my profession faithfully.

يف حرفتنا عادة اأن�ساأت منذ اكرث من األفي �سنة وهي اأن ال ي�سمح الأحد اأن ينخرط يف
�سلك �سرفها اإن مل يتعهد على نف�سه �سراحة القيام بواجباتها. ولهذا فاإين االآن بالنيابة
عن روؤ�سائكم اأطلب اإليكم اأن تق�سموا كما اأق�سمنا قبلكم ميني اأبقراط.
بخ�سوع، واأنا يف ح�سرة اهلل اأعد باأن اأكون وفيا �سادقا يف ما اأ‘�سرح به االآن.
اإين �ساأحتفظ مبا ملهنة الطب من مثل عليا ومبا عرفت به جيال بعد جيل من جليل اخلدمة
للجن�س الب�سري، واإين يف معاجلتي املر�سى �ساأتبع ال�سبل التي يف نظري اأف�سل ما يوؤول
اإىل منفعتهم متحا�سيا كل ما قد ي�سرهم اأو يوؤذيهم.
لن اأ�سف دواء قاتال الأحد، ولن اأقوم بعملية اإجها�س اأو اأية عملية اأخرى مقرونة بغر�س
اإجرامي.
اإذا حل وباء اأو اأي خطر اآخر فاإين لن اأ�سمح للخوف اأن يدفعني اإىل الفرار من الواجب.
مهما اأرى اأو اأ�سمع من �سئ يف حياة النا�س مما يجب اأن ال يباح به، فاإين �سابقيه �سرا.
نف�سي عن كل عمل امل�ستطاع منزها املر�سى جهد ورائدي خدمة اإال اأدخل منزال ولن
مناق�س للف�سيلة، وهكذا اأمار�س مهنتي كل اأيام حياتي �سالكا �سبل الطهارة واال�ستقامة،
فلي�ساعدين اهلل ما دمت حمافظا على مييني هذه حتى اأمتتع بحياة اأق�سيها يف ممار�سة
االإجالل بعني النا�س اإليه جميع ينظر املقام رفيع يزال وال الع�سور كان يف جميع فن
واالإكرام.
