Every at camp is exciting! Campers are constantly on the go and will have fun while learning and developing the YMCA character values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. Daily activities include swimming, arts & crafts, games, nature exploration, and character development. With weekly field trips to some of the areas most exciting destination, every day at camp is an adventure!

WHEN & WHERE TO REGISTER:• The first and best day to register is:Saturday, April 18th at Healthy Kids Day/Camp Kick Off

• Sign up at Camp Kick Off and receive a free camp shirt.

• After Camp Kick Off, you may register any time during business hours at the Sacramento Area YMCA at 2021 W Street. You may also register and pay online at www.sacymca.org. By registering early you will ensure that your child has a reserved spot at camp.

• For your convenience, you may print the registration form from our website at www.sacymca.org.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCEThe YMCA offers reduced rates for income eligible YMCA MEMBER families.Spaces are limited and eligibility forms must be completed & approved prior to enrollment. Please allow 7-10 days for this process. Applications can be found onpage 5 of the Summer Program Guide, online at www.sacymca.org or at theSacramento Area YMCA, 2021 W Street.

TO APPLY:• Participant receiving financial assistance must be a YMCA member.• Applications must be received a minimum of three weeks prior to the start

date of the program.• Please complete the application on page 5. Incomplete applications will not

be processed.• Return completed applications, one month’s proof of income,* and a letter

explaining your financial situation to the YMCA. Any applications received without proof of income will not be processed.

• You will receive notification by mail within 7-10 working days.

DEPOSITSCamp programs fill up quickly! A deposit is required for each child in order toreserve a space. Please see each camp for specific deposit amounts.

REFUNDSWe will refund camp fees paid in full, less a deposit & bookkeeping fee, for cancellations made at least two weeks prior to the start of camp. In case of illness orinjury, please provide a physician’s statement if the two week deadline has passed. Awritten refund request is required before a refund will be provided. Please allow 2-3weeks to process refunds.

No refunds or credits will be issued for missed days at camp, for cancellations madeafter the two week deadline, or for campers suspended or expelled from camp.

E very day at camp is exciting! Day campers areconstantly on the go and will have fun whilelearning and developing the YMCA character values

For children entering the 7th - 9th grades A t the YMCA’s Teen Community Camp we challenge

teens to make a difference in their community. Teencamp is designed to include typical summer time

activities such as swimming, games, and trips, but alsoincludes community strengthening projects. Designed to fos-ter leadership and character values, teen camp is a place tolearn, have fun, and grow!

Camp hours are from 7:30 am – 5:30 pm. Campersleave the YMCA at 8:30 am and return at 4:30 pm.

CampCamp

C amp Dirt is the ultimate summer time experience. Designed for youth ages11-15, Camp Dirt combines outdoor adventure with the thrill of learning toride dirt bike motorcycles. No riding experience is necessary; all riders will be

taken through a 21-lesson course taught by certified instructors. After completion of thelessons, campers will participate in group trail rides on the 800-plus acres of Prairie CityState Off-Highway Vehicle Park. Campers will learn about goal setting, personalresponsibility and care/maintenance of equipment. Dirt bikes and helmets are provided.Campers must provide long sleeve shirts, long pants, sturdy gloves and boots for ridingactivities, as well as daily lunches and any snacks they may need.

Height and weight restrictions are necessary for participants’ safety. (Maximum weight for dirt

ADVANCED DIRT CAMPA six-day resident camp designed for the experienced riders 13-16 years old who arelooking for adventure and to extend their riding skills. Camp is based out of Bear ValleyResident Camp. Campers will also develop teamwork, leadership skills andenvironmental responsibility. Campers must be accomplished riders and haveDirector’s approval prior to registration.

Bear Valley Resident Summer Campis back for 2009!Located just off Hwy. 20 near theYuba Gap, Bear Valley Camp offerschildren ages 7 through 15 a uniqueopportunity to learn and grow in arustic wilderness setting.

Campers, ages 7 through 14, willexperience a wide variety of activitiesthat include craft projects, natureexploration, swimming, hiking,campfires, overnights, games, themedays, skits and songs. New this year,15-year-olds can come to camp asC.I.T. (Counselor In Training).

The YMCA Ragger and LeathersPrograms are offered at Bear ValleyCamp. The program is designed forcampers to examine their lives andmake conscious decisions to betterthemselves. The goal is to havecampers make personal challenges forself-improvement. Campers whochoose to participate in the Program gothrough a ceremony in which they aregiven a triangle piece of cloth or aleather symbol (Rags and Leathers,respectively) to serve as a reminder oftheir challenge.

Bear Valley Camp is devoted toeducating children about the four corevalues of the YMCA: Honesty, Respect,Responsibility and Caring, as well asinstilling them with self-confidence,social skills and giving them friendshipsthat will last a lifetime.

C.I.T.C.I.T.

T he NEW C.I.T. program is designed to transition 15-17 year old campers intoresponsible and caring leaders at camp. During the first week, C.I.T.’s will betrained on developing leadership skills, team-building activities and learning to

work with younger campers. When C.I.T.’s return for their second week, they will bevolunteering with cabins of younger campers for a hands-on experience and learningfrom counselors. On the last day, C.I.T. will come together for a final celebration andcompletion ceremony.

SESSION DATES: July 12-17 & July 19-24FEES: C.I.T. $600 (includes both weeks)TRANSPORTATION: $50 per CIT (includes both weeks)
