    THE GAMEThe Cleveland Browns (0-3) will travel to face AFC North and intrastate

    val Cincinnati Bengals (0-3) this Sunday, Sept. 28 at 1:00 p.m. at

    Paul Brown Stadium. The contest will mark the 70th meeting betweenoth clubs as the Browns have a 34-35-0 regular season mark against

    he Bengals, including a 13-22-0 record on the road. The Brownsave played the Bengals (69 regular season meetings) the second

    most in franchise history, second only to the Pittsburgh Steelers rivalry111 regular season meetings).

    n meetings. Since the Browns return in 1999, the Browns are 7-11gainst the Bengals.

    The Browns are looking to recover after a 28-10 loss at Baltimore toall to 0-3 on the season and 0-2 within the AFC North. In the setback,

    Browns QB Derek Anderson was 14-of-37 passing for 125 yards withne touchdown and three interceptions. Anderson opened the scoring

    with a 19-yard touchdown play on a screen pass to RB Jerome Harri-on in the second quarter. The Browns added a 38 yard field goal by K

    Phil Dawson late in the second quarter to open a 10-7 lead at the half.

    However, the Ravens responded with 21 points in the third quarterompliments of two Browns turnovers and key field position.

    Browns RB Jamal Lewis had 56 yards on 12 carries (4.7 avg.), while

    WR Braylon Edwards added three receptions for 27 yards. Defen-

    ively, LB Andra Davis led the team with 13 total tackles, including aTFL. The Browns recorded two interceptions on the afternoon with a

    B DQwell Jackson interception in the first quarter and a S Mike Ad-ms pick in the second stanza. Rookie LB Alex Hall recorded his first

    NFL sack with a seven yard loss of Ravens QB Joe Flacco.

    ABOUT THE Bengals

    The Bengals dropped to 0-3 after fallingto the New York Giants 26-23 in overtimelast weekend. Cincinnati also dropped

    contests to Baltimore (17-10) and Ten-

    nessee (24-7). QB Carson Palmer leadsthe team with 514 yard threw the air, one

    touchdown pass and three interceptions.RB Chris Perry leads the squad with 180

    yards on the ground and two touchdowns. WR TJ Houshmandz

    has registered 18 receptions for 216 yards and one touchdown, WR Chad Johnson has added eight catches for 88 yards.

    THE COACHESCLEVELAND BROWNS - ROMEO CRENNEL

    Romeo Crennel is entering his fourth season as HeadCoach and was rewarded with a two-year contract ex-tension (thru 2011) on Jan. 29, 2008. Crennel led theBrowns to a 10-6 record in 2007, including a franchise-best seven consecutive home wins, and witnessed sixBrowns selected to the Pro Bowl. Crennels offensedeveloped into a highly productive unit and rankedeighth in the NFL in offense (5,621 net yards) and scor-ing (402 points). The output of net yards and scoringalso ranked third best in franchise history. Crennel was

    amed head coach of the Cleveland Browns on Feb. 8, 2005, the 11th full-timeead coach in franchise history. Crennel returned to Cleveland in 2005, aftererving as the Browns defensive coordinator in 2000, and along with Phil Sav-ge helped rebuild the football operations. Crennel previously led the Browns

    o a respectable 6-10 record in his first year as a head coach and added a 4-12mark in 2006. His resume includes 38 years of coaching experience, including

    7 years in the NFL. Prior to rejoining the Browns, Crennel served as the defen-ive coordinator for New England (2001-04), helping the Patriots to three Super

    Bowl victories. From 1997-99, Crennel coached the defensive line on the NewYork Jets. He spent 12 years on the New York Giants coaching staff starting ashe special teams and defensive assistant coach in 1981. Crennel began hisrofessional coaching career in 1970 at his alma mater, Western Kentucky. Helso saw stints at Texas Tech, Mississippi and Georgia Tech before entering therofessional ranks.

    CINCINNATI BENGALS - MARVIN LEWISLewis is in his sixth year at the helm for Cincinnati.Lewis became the ninth coach in Bengals history onJanuary 14th, 2003. In his five seasons with the team,Lewis has compiled a 42-41 regular season record andhas registered just one losing season. The Bengals fin-

    ished 8-8 in each of their first two seasons under Lewisand in 2003 and 2004, Lewis finished second behindBill Belichick of New England in Associated Press vot-ing for NFL Coach of the Year. In 2005, Cincinnati re-corded an 11-5 record, winning the AFC North division

    and making the playoffs for the first time in 15 years. Despite setting multipleranchise records in the regular season, the Bengals lost to the rival PittsburghSteelers, 31-17, in the wild card round. Lewis entered the NFL coaching ranksn 1992 with the Steelers as a linebackers coach, spending four seasons in theSteel City. From there, he joined the Baltimore Ravens staff as the defensiveoordinator, spending six seasons (1996-2001) there, including a Super Bowlictory in 2000. Prior to joining the Bengals in 2002 he directed the NFLs fifth-anked defense with Washington, serving as assistant head coach in additiono his coordinators role. Lewis spent 11 seasons coaching in the college ranks,eginning his coaching career as linebackers coach at his alma mater, Idaho

    State, from 1981-84, winning the NCAA Division 1-AA championship in 1981.

    QB Jeff Garcia hooked up with WR Quincy Morgan on a 3-yard scoring pass tolose the gap to 20-10, but New York RB Mike Cloud put the game away with a-yard TD run with 2:02 left.

    LAST time IN THE REGULAR SEASON

    The Browns put themselves in a tough spot, falling behind 19-0 at halftime before co

    up just short in their comeback attempt, falling 19-14 at the hands of the Bengals at

    Brown Stadium in Cincinnati. The Browns got on the board late in the third quarter

    an 11 play, 71-yard drive ended with QB Derek Anderson connecting with WR Br

    Edwards on a 2-yard TD pass, cutting the Browns deficit to 19-7. After an intercept

    their own midway through the final quarter, Browns DB Leigh Bodden stepped in fr

    a Bengals QB Carson Palmer pass attempt, swiping his second interception of the

    noon, giving the Browns the ball at the Bengals 16-yard line. Three plays later And

    found Edwards for a 5-yard TD, drawing the Browns to within 19-14. On their en

    drive, the Bengals advanced the ball from their own 40-yard line down to the Br

    22-yard line. On 2nd and 10 from the Browns 22-yard line, Bengals RB Kenny Wa

    was stripped by Browns LB Andra Davis. The ball was recovered by Browns LB D

    Jackson, giving the Browns one last shot at the comeback. With 1:48 remainin

    Browns started from their own 17-yard line, moving the ball to the Bengals 29-yar

    with one second left. On the final play of the game, Anderson was unable to connec

    TE Kellen Winslow, providing the 19-14 outcome.

    Browns Head Coach Romeo Crennel named LB Willie McGinest, LBAndra Davis, QB Derek Anderson, C Hank Fraley, K Phil Dawson andKR Joshua Cribbs as team captains for the 2008 season. The playerswere voted upon by their teammates.

    McGinest (15th season) and Davis (7th season) will serve as defensiveaptains, Anderson (4th season) and Fraley (9th season) will serve as

    offensive captains, while Dawson (10th season) and Cribbs (4th season)as special teams captains.

    Each NFL club will have team captains wear a captain patch on their uni-

Despite playing his entire cardefensive end, Wiggin recorded three career interceptions and returned hiinterception in 1960, 20 yards for a touchdown. Born in Modesto, Calif., Wreturned to his alma mater and coached for three years after a three-yeaas a coach with the Kansas City Chiefs.

    Walter Johnson DT 64 275 lbs Years with Browns: 1965-76Nicknamed Zoom for his notorious quickness off the ball, Johnson was by the Browns in the second round of 1965 NFL draft and went on to play game of all of his 13 seasons in the league. Johnson teamed with DT Sherk to create one of the most dominant defensive tackle tandems of theirDuring his career, Johnson fronted a Browns defense that notched twenmore forced fumbles in every season he was on the team. Even as an indefensive lineman, Johnson corralled two interceptions during his storied cand even broke off a 24-yard kickoff return playing special teams in 1972.

    Browns promote TuckerMel Tucker - Defensive Coordinator

    The Cleveland Browns named Mel Tucker defensiordinator. In 2008, Tucker received a two-year coextension and is signed through the 2010 season.er spent the last three seasons as the Browns defebacks coach under head coach Romeo Crennel.

    Tucker, a Cleveland native, inherited a young seary in 2007 as the Browns ranked 24th in the leallowing 230.1 yards passing per game. Tucker wsponsible for the development of two young safetthe secondary and tutoring youth at the corner poas well.

    Tucker assisted in the development of two draft choices who made an immediate impact in the Browns secondary.     Undlin came to Cleveland from the New EnglandPatriots, where he spent the 2004 season as the defen-sive assistant helping with the defensive backs. Undlinwas part of a Patriots team that won back-to-back Su-per Bowl championships and also won an NFL record21 straight games.

    Before joining New England, Undlin spent two seasons assisting with theefensive backs as a graduate assistant at Fresno State University (2002-03).

    During those two seasons, Fresno State won back-to-back Silicon Valley Bowlsy defeating Georgia Tech and UCLA, respectively.

    s the first person from his hometown of Live Oak, Fla., and Suwanee High School tolay professional sports and is honored every year with a day celebrating his profes-ional accomplishments.

    Phil Dawson is the longest active tenured member of the Browns. He scored therst regular season rushing TD for the Browns at Cleveland Browns Stadium with a-yard TD run on a fake field goal attempt vs. Cincinnati on Oct. 10, 1999.

    E Darnell Dinkins established the Maleness to Manhood Foundation to benefit inner-ity youth. He spoke to nearly 100 students at Clevelands Genesis High School, arogram to provide intense academic recovery to specific youth in a small group

    nstruction.

    WR Braylon Edwards donated $1 million to the Cleveland Municipal School Districto create a college scholarship opportunity for 100 eighth-grade students, named Ad-ance 100, as long as the students maintain a 2.5 GPA, participate in 15 hours of com-

    munity service each year throughout high school. In 2006, he donated $500,000 toreate a scholarship endowment at the University of Michigan for the football player

    who wears the No. 1 jersey, the largest donation pledged to the university by a profes-ional athlete.

    L Hank Fraley was one of only two players to take every offensive snap (Joe Thom-s) in 2007. His brother, David, was stationed with the United States Armys 3rd Infan-y Division in Iraq and his father is a Vietnam veteran.

    B DQwell Jackson changed his number from 58 to 52 this past spring. His wifemira, recently opened her dental practice in Westlake, Ohio.

    Sean Jones recorded his second consecutive 100-plus tackle season (105 in 2007nd 107.5 in 2006).

    WR Joe Jurevicius is a Cleveland-area native who played prep football at Lake Catho-c High School in Mentor, Ohio and has played in three Super Bowls during his career,arning a ring with Tampa Bay in Super Bowl XXXVII. He has a 65,000-acre huntinganch, Dismal River Outfitters, in Mullen, Neb., which is stocked with buffalo, elk andeer.

    B Jamal Lewis topped 9,000 career rushing yards, in 2007, becoming one of only 26layers in NFL history to accomplish that feat. He is the owner and CEO of a truckingompany, All American Xpress, based in Atlanta, Ga.

    B Willie McGinest is the CEO of a multi-faceted entertainment company called 55ntertainment, and owns a sports memorabilia company, Signature Collectables, aisual content and distribution company, Pristine Vision and owns and operates res-aurant franchises and investment properties, WilMac, Inc.
