5-1. Technology

5.Reference Information

1) ASSY-MAIN PCB (Imbalance Sensor)To prevent the laundry from gathering on one side of the tube causing noise and vibration, the washing machine uses an imbalance detection device that evenly disentangles the laundry before the hydrating cycle starts.

2) DOOR-LOCK S/WPrevents the door from being opened while a cycle is in progress. For safety purposes, it keeps the door locked even in pause mode or after the washing cycle unless the water level frequency is greater than 24.8Khz (anti-overflow level) or the inside-tube temperature is less than65ºC in the hydrating cycle, and 55ºC in the washing cycle.

3) SENSOR-PRESSURE (Anti Over-Flow)When the water supplied is more than 2/3 of the tube capacity due to a malfunction of the water supply valve, this device automatically starts water-draining and displays “OVER-FLOW ERROR(E3)”on the LED.

4) THERMISTORKeeps sensoring and controlling the temperature inside the tube to keep it below your settings.

Page 17: 20070903200911140 Eurok4 Tm 0719

5-1. Technology

5.Reference Information

5) ASSY-THERMAL FUSE (Anti Over-Heat)When the washing heater is overheated due to an error in the thermistor or any other malfunction, the assy-thermal fuse (built in the heater) is automatically activated to disconnect the power for your and the product’s safety.

6) ASSY-MAIN PCB (Sensitive Laundry Protection)To avoid any damage to sensitive laundry, the tube temperature is detected and “ERROR(E8)” is displayed on the LED for Wool or Lingerie courses when the temperature is over 50.

7) THERMOSTAT (Anti Over-Heat)When the heater (drier) overheats from an error in the thermistor or any other malfunction, the thermostat (installed on the drying duct) is automatically activated to disconnect the power for your or product’s safety

8) CHILD LOCKPrevents children from playing with the washing machine.

9) PRE-WASHThe machine does a preliminary wash of about 10 minutes prior to the main wash. This is particularly effective for cleaning badly stained laundry.

10) WEIGHT SENSORThe tube automatically rotates when no water is supplied to detect the laundry weight so that the proper wash time can be determined. (Standard, Boiling, Economy Boil and Dirt courses and Toweling and Drying cycles)

MOTOR •2. After removing the back cover, unfasten the M19 nut that holds the motor in place. •(Caution: Turn the nut counterclockwise to unfasten it. You have to turn it with a quick ‘twist’ because turning it slowly turns the motor at the same time and makes it difficult to loosen the nut.)•Do not try to unfasten the nut by inserting a screw driver into the motor. This may cause a motor malfunction.

3. Remove the M19 nut washer and then remove the rotor.

(Pulling out the rotor requires some force and is pulled out

suddenly rather than slowly. Be careful, as the stator when pulled

out, may cause damage to the corners of the frame, or injury to your hands or arms.) Disconnect

the wires connected to the motor. To remove the connector, press the navel of the housing and pull

it towards the inside.

4. Remove the motor wire and hall sensor while holding down the

navel of the housing. Be cautious when handling as the hall sensor is susceptible to

shock.

Remove the stator.* When unfastening the last one of the six (6) screws, hold the stator by hand to prevent it from falling due to

its weight.

CHECK-POINT1) Check whether there are any foreign substances between the

rotor and the stator.2) Check whether the motor

power wires (blue, while, red) are connected correctly.

3) Check whether the hall sensor wire is connected

correctly.* Connect the motor power

wires in the order blue, white and red, starting from the

furthest right. Check whether each voltage between blue and white, white and red, red and

blue is 15 Ω.

2. Remove the connecting wire.- Remove the thermostat which is

fixed at the bottom of the tub.(Be careful as there may be water

remaining.)You MUST remove the thermostat

BEFORE removing the heater. If you remove or assemble in the reverse

order, the thermostat may receive a shock and become damaged.

3. Loosen the nut that holds the heater in place with a M10 tool.

Remove the heater.(Rather than unfasten it

completely, loosen the nut that holds the heater in place to the end. After loosening it, pull the

heater towards the front. However, a shock to the heater may cause a malfunction. Therefore, do not use pincers or nippers. Pull it out with

your hands swinging a little.)

4. Remove the heater from the tub. * Assembling PrecautionsMake sure to correctly position the heater onto the bracket inside the tub. Incorrect positioning may cause fire. When assembling, fully insert the heater until the packing is completely engaged inside the tub so that the packing adheres completely to the tub. CHECK-POINT1) Check whether the resistance of the heater is 27.1 Ω for the 1900W unit, and 26.2 Ω for the 2000W unit.2) Check whether the resistance of the thermister is 12k Ω (at room temperature).
