COMENIUS 2008 – 2010: SENTSUDER (Supporting Entrepreneurship in Schools and Sustainable Development in EU
Regions)
Project was aimed at the questions of sustainable development within the education in different types of schools. The partnesrhip was created by 13 schools from 9 countries that included primary and secondary general and vocational schools with the students aged from 12 to 18. The main topic of the 1st year was Historical routes in my region / country. Teachers and students were searching for information ( archives, libraries, internet ) about the historical route chosen that were connected in some way with their region or country. They also developed PC presentations with some printed materials. Results of their work were introduced at the Student ´s Conference during the project meeting in Paese / Mogliano Veneto ( Italy ). In the past times different routes connected different countries in order to develop the trade and get to know with new cultures and traditions. The idea of the routes that connected Europe without borders is getting nowadays a growing importance. Processing this topic as the marketing product was expected to develop further student ´s business ability and skills that are considered the priorities within Comenius Programme. Moreover, the cultural heritage is an important part of the conception of sustainable development in each partner country. In the 2nd year the main topic was a present – day sustainable development. The students got acquainted with the basic documentation provided by the teachers. Later they developed questionnaires related to common European indicators of town´s sustainable development and distributed them throught the towns in appropriate ways ( the questions were about the citizens ´satisfaction with the local community, ecological energy production, local mobility transportation, greenery, air pollution, local government and SME ´s, activities, products supporting the sustainable development, etc.). The results were again presented at the Student´s Conference that took place during the project meeting in March 2010 in Sibiu ( Romania ). When prepared materials they cooperated closely with local authority or business and chose and emphasized the examples of good practice from their region. All project results have been included into partner schools teaching process as the supplementary study materials. Working methods carried out: research in the field, visits to companies and local government bodies, questionnaires, PC data processing, conferences and supplementary activities. Second year of the project work influenced strongly students ´ business skills as they were processing a very current topic in a close cooperation with different local and regional bodies ( SME ´s, local authority, wide public ), analysed the information obtained and proposed appropriate solutions. Work within the wide international team brought a lot of new impressions, information and inspiration for all the schools involved.
