A self-taught man, Leung Chi-kwong, has kept his 9-year-old-daughter out of school for nearly a year.

The department issued an ultimatum on 19/12 after repeatedly warning Mr Leung that he would be prosecuted if Dearing failed to arrive at a new school next month.

Reasons for not taking his daughter to school:

--Dearing suffered a temporary loss of hearing on her left side while being a student at Tai Po Methodist School.

--Dearing was assaulted by a classmate and abused by teachers when she was in Sam Shui Natives Association School in Tai Po.

--Leung described the education system as “horrible”.

--as a “complete failure” victimizing the students.

--teachers appear like angels when facing you, but they are actually devils at your back--

--teachers are very unfair.

What he taught her daughter at home:--Chinese classics such as Master Sun’s Art of War

--English novels such as Oliver Twist & Alice in Wonderland

His expectation:

---his daughter would become the youngest university student in the SAR.

I don’t agree to the father’s ideas.

---in school children not only acquire knowledge but also learn to communicate with others.

---I will point out the advantages and the disadvantages on the next page.

--make less “monkeys”.

--parents can look after their children at any time.

--parents can avoid their children from becoming bad.

--may stop their children from developing social and communication skills.

--children will not receive any formal training or get accredited qualifications.

--will not undergo any assessment.

--children are more dependent on their parents.
