WHO SHOULD ATTEND Chemical Engineers and Chemical Technicians involved in process design, process simulation, process engineering; plant mass and energy balances, Including all current and prospective CHEMCAD users GENERAL SCOPE COURSE CONTENT The basic theoretical background to process flowsheet simulation, includ- ing flowsheet techniques, modeling techniques, thermodynamics, and control systems. The presentation includes hands-on solution of exam- ple problems in order to illustrate the various industry applications for pro- cess simulation. No previous experience in the use of CHEMCAD is required, but some background in flowsheet simulation is desirable. A discussion/question/ answer format is also employed in order to maximize retention of course material and theoretical concepts. Persons attending the training should expect to leave the course with a basic working knowledge of CHEM- CAD, and process flowsheet simula- tion techniques . Chempute Software will provide training venue, computers, training dongles, printed training notes, teas, lunches, course certificate. 20—24 AUGUST 2018 PROCESS FLOWSHEET SIMULATION USING CHEMCAD Introduction Process Fundamentals & CHEMCAD Basic Navigation Thermodynamics Process Modelling – Selection of Thermodynamic Methods Guidance Note Piping Systems Solving Pipe & Header Networks using CHEMCAD Sizing Tools-Pipes, Pumps, Meters & Valves Distillation Distillation Columns in CHEMCAD Suite Methods to Converge Reluctant Columns in CHEMCAD Heterogeneous Azeotropic Distillation Integrated Chemical Engineering Software – Ethanol Dehydration Crude Oil Distillation Heat Transfer Process Modelling and Design of Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers Emergency Relief Systems Relief & Blowdown in Multipurpose Batch Plant Emergency Relief System Sizing Software – Methods & Practice Relief Device Sizing Tool – Validation Cases Dynamic Modelling Process Modelling and Control of Batch Reactors in the Fine Chemicals Industry Batch Reactors Thermal Design & Performance Introduction Process Fundamentals & CHEMCAD Basic Navigation Thermodynamics Process Modelling – Selection of Thermodynamic Methods Guidance Note Piping Systems Solving Pipe & Header Networks using CHEMCAD Sizing Tools-Pipes, Pumps, Meters & Valves Distillation Distillation Columns in CHEMCAD Suite Methods to Converge Reluctant Columns in CHEMCAD Heterogeneous Azeotropic Distillation Integrated Chemical Engineering Software – Ethanol Dehydration Crude Oil Distillation Heat Transfer Process Modelling and Design of Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers Emergency Relief Systems Relief & Blowdown in Multipurpose Batch Plant Emergency Relief System Sizing Software – Methods & Practice Relief Device Sizing Tool – Validation Cases Dynamic Modelling Process Modelling and Control of Batch Reactors in the Fine Chemicals Industry Batch Reactors Thermal Design & Performance
