In Calhoun/Gordon County, located in the Northwest region of Georgia, you can recapture the essence of those calmer days, that slower paced life you remember, and share them with your kids.

The rolling hills of Gordon County are steeped in history. Walk in the footsteps of the Cherokee Nation; see where one of the bloodiest battles in the Civil War was fought; close your eyes and listen to native Roland Hayes, the late world-renowned African-American tenor.

Gordon County offers camping - from primitive to comfortable. There’s also hiking, fishing, canoeing and a chance to really leave the bright city lights behind and experience the stars instead. Two golf courses cater to the pros and to the amateur duffers.

Artists and antique lovers will find quaint shops and galleries and out-of-the-way nooks and niches, just begging to be explored. If shopping is your style, don’t miss Calhoun’s downtown business district with chic boutiques, Calhoun Outlet Marketplace with over 50 stores adjacent to I-75... or the many carpet outlets.

For those searching for culinary delights and delicious southern flare, you will find top rated BBQ joints, as well as, a variety of local favorites offering farm-to-fork vegetables.

Gordon County boasts six exits along I-75 and some of the best national brand accommodations without the big city price tags. All within an easy drive to Atlanta, Chattanooga, Tennessee and Birmingham, Alabama.

There’s more to life than traffic jams, deadlines, and families going in different directions. In Calhoun/Gordon County, you can enjoy a relaxing family retreat.
