Satellite Phone Training
1. Take holster off phone if applicable2. Verify antenna is completely inserted3. To insert antenna slot:
1. Hold antenna button atop phone while inserting antenna
2. Release button to lock antenna into place
NOTE: Antenna must be completely insertedIt is completely inserted when antenna easily locks/snaps/clicks into the 95° position to either left or right

Usage of Antenna
When talking on the phone, antenna should be vertical with groundKeep in mind if you rotate satellite antenna down, your call will be droppedMake sure antenna has and maintains “line of sight”

Full “Line of Site”For OPTIMAL performance, the antenna must be able to “see” the entire skyNearby tall buildings or similar structures, heavily leafed trees, mountains, etc. can degrade performance if they block signal between equipment’s antenna and satellites
Signal Strength
5 bars are ideal on the signal strength indicator
Signal strength indicator will fluctuate in normal casesIf no or continued low signal check your “line of sight”
Dialing Patterns:iridium U.S. landline or another iridium sat phone
1. Fully extend phone antenna straight up so it has a clear 360° view of the sky2. Turn phone on and allow time for full signal strength and registration to
process3. Dialing sequence:
[00] [country code] [area code][local number] to U.S. 00 1 480 857 6656 to another iridium sat phone 00 8816 xxx xxxx4. Press green “OK” button5. You will hear several beeps and then ringing before connection
1. Make sure you have long-distance international dialing capabilities from your landline
2. Dialing sequence: [011] [8816] [xxx] [xxxx]

Answering Calls
Phone is on & antenna is fully extendedThe phone rings and/or vibrates, the status indicator light will also be alternating red & greenWhen ‘Call, Answer?’ is in display, press the OK buttonYou will see ‘Connected’
Answering Calls, Con’t. Phone is on & antenna is stowedPhone chirps up to 3 times to alert you of an incoming callPhone displays “Call Attempt”YOU MUST rotate and fully extend antenna quickly to receive callYou will see “Iridium Call Attempt”, DO NOT attempt to answer until phone rings or vibratesWhen phone does ring or vibrate you will see “Call, Answer?” in display, press “OK” buttonYou will see “Connected”
End a Call
After a few seconds during a call you will see “End Call?”At anytime during a call, you can press “OK” to end the call.
Voicemail First-Use SetupIt is necessary to set this up while phone is registered – meaning you will have to be outside or connected with external antennaPress the “Message Button”, it will state ‘Call Voicemail?’, press ‘OK’It will display your satellite phone number, press ‘OK’Display will state ‘Calling’Your call will be forwarded to your voicemail box, press * to interrupt the greeting and then enter the last seven digits [8816 224 26802] of your sat phone number and follow the set-up guide
Checking Voicemail
Press “message key”Select “Call Voicemail” Press “OK”The satellite phone number will appear (e.g.+881631459782) and “Call?” Press “OK”Interrupt voicemail greeting by pressing ‘*’ –or-automated menu will ask for passwordWait for prompt to enter password – the last seven digits of your satellite phone number
