Traffic in Bondi Street
Building Update
Epsilon 2
Principal’s comment continued
Traffic in Bondi Street
Parking around the school property has been raised again as a concern. As we all know the road rules I thought I would try some reverse psychology here with regard to parking on Bondi Street in particular. Thank you to all the families who… …stay at their cars in the drop off zone ...drive around the block until their child is waiting at the drop off zone …don’t park across local neighbour’s driveways ...read the Council signs and obey them …accept responsibility for their own parking decisions …don’t do U Turns in school pedestrian entry points ...adhere to the speed limit …allow enough time in the morning to get to school before the first bell. The roads around our school are safer for your efforts.
Building Update
Many of you may have seen that the steel structures for the first stage of the building program have come on site and will be bolted together like a giant meccano set over the next few days (weather permitting). Our new school will start to look like an actual building. We can’t wait.

Please help us to save the Environment We would like you to bring along your own plate, cup, fork and plastic bag (for dirty dishes). This helps the environment because it reduces the rubbish we usually generate when we use plastic plates and cups and throw them away.

Even Though it is Winter
We Still Need to Drink Water
When we don’t water plants they wilt. When we don’t provide water for pets they grow tired and complain. When children don’t drink enough water it can affect their ability to learn, play and feel well. Drinking water prevents dehydration, which can affect concentration,
cause headaches and constipation. Drinking tap water over sweet drinks promotes healthy teeth and prevents expensive dental caries. Drinking too many sweet drinks is also strongly associated with overweight and obesity in children.
Many children benefit from regularly drinking water, A great way for kids to ‘Tap into water every day’ is for students to bring a water bottle filled with tap water for school each day.
Children don’t need sweet drinks such cordial, fruit juice, fruit drinks, flavoured milk, flavoured mineral water and soft drinks. Sweet drinks are best limited to special occasions. If you do include sweet drinks in your families eating plan, limit to no more than one small glass a day and leave them out of school lunchboxes.
