In January 1979, Norman Alexander, Cal Poly's head librarian, was shot in the head in the university's parking lot. Here's a copty of his confession letter, the Telegram-Tribune's 1979 front-page story about the shooting and a 1979 editorial published in Cal Poly's student newspaper, the Mustang Daily.
