Low mile Fresh Barn Find - $4000 (Hadley, Mass. ) Date: 2012-01-05, 8:05PM EST Reply to: [email protected] [ Errors when replying to ads?] Heralding from when GM was building muscle cars with higher horsepower until 1970 when the cars became de-tuned, this 375 hp, 455 cubic inch Oldsmobile Toronado is truly a iconic, collectible car. One of GM's first forays into front wheel drive technology, the Toronado was unique in its production. A converted THM 400 transmission made it indestructable, to handle the larger power of the 455 cubic inch engine. Its truly a fun car to drive and exhilerating on acceleration. We stumbled on this car when appraising another Classic car for a customer, at which time it sat next to a gorgeous 1931 Model A Business Coupe, covered in dust with four flat tires. d When we inquired, the owner indicated it was his sisters car who retired it in its current space in 1988 at the age of 90, sadly no longer able to drive. Its mileage at this time was a stunning 38k original miles according the the gentlemen. We purchased the car from him, had it flatbedded to our business and began resurrecting it, thoroughy cleaning it, replacing all the ignition components, brake calipers, oils, battery, fuel, filters and much more. It started on the first crank, and runs magnificenty other than the exhaust donuts leaking, and flat spots in the tires. In driving it, its quite fast and responsive. What's left to do? Replace the four tires, exhaust donuts, and drive it. Its pretty much a rust free car with some areas of small rust which can be easliy attended to. Floors and rockers are not a issue. Priced nicely for the collector, who wishes to chase it a little more, its truly a fun car, unique in its architecture, and very collectible. We do not have time to send additional picutures, however suggest if seriously interested, please come and see the car. You may contact Chris at 413-584-0100 for further information. PLEASE NO EMAILS APPRECIATED. THANKS FOR LOOKING AND ENJOY THE PICTURES. 1969 Oldsmobile Toronado. Classic FWD w/455.
