NDRI-USA is a private, not-for-profit research company (501[c][3]) that has been in occupancy in the building since 2009. NDRI-USA evolved out of the National Development and Research Institutes, Inc., which was established in 1967 to advance and utilize scientific knowledge toward innovative solutions for substance abuse, mental health problems, HIV/AIDS and related medical and social concerns, especially among high-risk populations. NDRI-USA has produced ground-breaking medical, public health, and social sciences research for over 50 years. Our scientists have developed internationally recognized programs of research targeting military and veteran population, first responder, and security services health and readiness, homeland security, sexual, gender, and racial health disparities, and international public health and infectious diseases, in addition to substance abuse research. Our high impact research is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Defense (DoD), and a number of di�erent private foundations. In addition, NDRI-USA opened the Social Sciences Innovation Corporation (SSIC), a for-profit company o�ering consulting services and product development. NDRI-USA/SSIC reflect our exciting evolution and improvements in institutional e�ciency while still honoring the long history of successes by NDRI-USA. Together, the NDRI-USA/SSIC conduct research and provide solutions for pressing health and safety issues nationally and internationally.
