BE FOUND FAITHFUL IN THE HOUSE OF GOD

2014 – YEAR OF RESTORATION

Holiness is going to be a pillar in our lives

GOD IS LOOKING FOR FAITHFUL PEOPLE •  Acts 6 – The church chose 7 men ( 1st 7

deacons) •  Acts 6:1 Now in those days, when the number

of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because the widows were neglected in the daily distribution

•  Acts 6: 1 - God is looking for Stephens. *Where there is dissatisfaction *Where there are arguments *Where tasks remain incomplete

CHOOSING THE MEN

•  He transformed Paul…greatest apostle for God •  Thomas the doubter established a ministry in India •  Joel 2:28a“And afterward, I will pour out My

Spirit on all people.. •  Our Lord wants us to be filled with the Holy Spirit

of God SO THAT WE CAN BECOME USEFUL…

2) FILLED WITH WISDOM

•  1Cor 1:27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

•  1 Cor 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power (wisdom) of God.

•  FEAR OF GOD-GIVES WISDOM •  Acts 6:9-10 Opposition arose, however, from members of the

Synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called)—Jews of Cyrene and Alexandria as well as the provinces of Cilicia and Asia—who began to argue with Stephen. 10 But they could not stand up against the wisdom the Spirit gave him as he spoke.

•  Col 1:28 He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.

3) HAVE A WITNESS-FUL LIFE

•  Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

•  LIVE AS A WITNESS…. •  II Cor 2:15 For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ

among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. •  LORD MAKE ME A WITNESS •  Acts 6:8 Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power,

performed great wonders and signs among the people. •  LORD GIVE ME FAITH….
