I have received many posive comments about how everyone enjoyed the occasion! Congratulaons to the award winners from each class. I would like to highlight the following students who received the following special awards: Dux (Academic Excellence): Lilli Daly & Logan Allison; Triad Award (From Scholarship, Sportsmanship & Cizenship): Jorge Constable & Leah Adams; Senior Sports Awards: Lachlan Druhan & Halle Constable; Junior Sports Awards: Bray Constable & Rogue Constable; Creave Arts Award: Olivia Avery (K-2) & Anna Woolnough (3-6); Dot & Hilton Philip Award for Personal Achievement: Tom Foat; Aileen Hayward Award for Achievement in Music: Anna Woolnough & Giaan Cafe; Kevin & Isobel Connolly Award for Literacy: Sandy Loudoun; Quota / Sandra Carr Award for Technology: Tippy Sco; Joan Constable Award for Mathemacs: Freddie Friskin; The Teacher’s Federaon Award: Ella Sultana; The Hon. Dr Mike Kelly Leadership Award: Allie-Mae Cook; The Hon. Andrew Constance School Spirit Award: Crystal Davies; School Captains for 2019: Rogue Constable, Jade Wilson, Luke Barry & Lachlan Druhan. I would like to recognise the hard work of those students, who did not have received an award, however sll strived to achieve their personal best, display outstanding leadership, iniave, co-operaon and dedicaon to our school. End of Year / Beginning of Next Year Dates Just a final reminder, school for the students ends on Wednesday December 19, 2018. Children from Years 1 to 6 in 2019 will commence on Wednesday January 30, 2019. Kindergarten children will complete their Best Start Assessment from Wednesday January 30 – Friday February 1 and will commence school proper on Monday, 4 February. Parents of Kindergarten children will receive a leer with individual appointment mes and starng me. 2019 School Structures All schools formulate a plan for the commencement of 2019. These plans can and do oſten change depending upon new enrolments aſter the holiday break as well as taking into account the families that move out of the area or school during this me as well. For this reason, the school will commence the year with children being grouped in their current classes for the first week. These groups will commence the school year’s curriculum with emphasise upon PD/H/PE, revision of concepts and social skills programs. Staffing News Congratulaons go out to Mrs Tania Hextell who was recently successful in obtaining the Teaching Principal posion permanently at Central Tilba Public School. Mrs Hextell was relieving in this posion for Term 4 and she was successful in merit selecon. Mrs Hextell has worked at Narooma PS for many years and will definitely be missed. On a personal note, I wish Tania every success as she ventures into the next stage of her career. Mr Robert Russack will connue his Long Service Leave in Term 1 of 2019. I will keep the community informed about the school’s arrangements once this leave concludes. Mr Alan Millar has also taken Long Service Leave in Term 1 and will transion into rerement aſter his leave concludes. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Millar for all of his years of dedicaon and service he has given the Department of Educaon and in parcular, Narooma Public School. Mr Max Clark will be joining our staff on a temporary basis in 2019. Mr Clark has recently been working at Cooma North PS before working casually at Narooma PS as he has moved into our area. We welcome Mr Clark to our school. I ancipate that there will be more movement in staffing over the holiday break. The Department of Educaon are conducng interviews for permanent posions which won’t conclude before this newsleer is published. I predict a few of our current temporary staff members will be extremely compeve for these posions. Canteen Tender I would like to announce to the community that the canteen tender for next two years was awarded to Mrs Mariah Elliston. Mrs Elliston will start in this posion in 2019. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank Mrs Sarah Dudley for her service to the school over the past two years. Merry Christmas Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in our school community that have shown your support for the school in your own special way. I would also like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe and wonderful holiday! Paul Sweeney Principal

Term 4 Week 10 NAROOMA PUBLIC SCHOOL 18 December 2018

Presentation Day I would like to thank everyone who attended the Presentation Evening last week at our school. I have received many positive comments about how everyone enjoyed the occasion!

Presentation Day Performances

Congratulations to all students for their performances at last Thursday’s Presentation Day.

For many, it was their first time on stage and their first time playing an instrument for an audience. They all did a fantastic job and deserve to be acknowledged for all of their hard work and dedication. Miss Garcia Music Teacher
