There is no parking available at Kew Gardens so we advise participants to travel to Kew Gardens via public transport or from Richmond. If you are driving, we suggest parking the car in Richmond and travel to the start via public transport or on foot. Please see the website for more detailed information and recommended car parks. If travelling by public transport, plan your route before the day especially as Sunday timetables can change. It’s better to be 20 minutes early rather than 20 minutes late! Please note the only entrance into Kew Gardens is via Victoria Gate off Kew Road. BY FOOT From Richmond Station and Old Deer Park the start in Kew Gardens is 1 mile away (20 mins medium paced walk). Stick to Kew Road and enter via Victoria Gate. A good distance for a warm up! Exit the station past the parade of shops, cross Sandycombe Road at the zebra crossing and walk down Lichfield Road (opposite) to reach Victoria Gate. BY BICYCLE Why not cycle to Kew Gardens or Old Deer Park? There are a limited number of bike racks at Kew Gardens, Kew Station and Richmond Station. It is a perfect warm up for the legs. BY LONDON UNDERGROUND Kew Gardens Station (District Line - Richmond branch and London Overground) is the closest station. Kew Gardens Station is 400 metres from the Victoria Gate entrance to the Gardens. Please always check the ‘Transport for London’ website (www.tfl.gov.uk) for service disruptions before making your journey. BY TRAIN Train services (South West Trains) from Waterloo, via Vauxhall and Clapham Junction, stop at Richmond Station. The London Overground service from Stratford to Kew Gardens Station does not start in time for the morning races so please check alternative routes. BY BUS Route 65 between Ealing Broadway and Kingston, via Richmond town centre, stops outside Victoria Gate. Route 391 between Fulham and Richmond stops near Kew Gardens Station. Routes 237 and 267 stop at Kew Bridge Station which is 15mins walk from Kew Gardens. SPECTATORS ROUTE TO THE FINISH You MUST exit the same way you cam in, via Victoria Gate. Follow Kew Road to Richmond.
