The Canal

• Leeds and Liverpool Canal programme • 12 artist projects commissioned• 203 activities organised• 1182 people played about on the water• 2 mentors trained • 20 bee-keepers trained• 7 British Canoeing Certificates achieved • 7547 participants, of all ages, engaged in the project workshops and community

open days• 792 days of artists time employed • 7 short films produced• 40,000 newspapers distributed• Two day conference held• 10 litter bins installed

The Sefton Commision

• Waterworks Project will create landmark structure which • promotes use of canal as a leisure / educational opportunity• explores social enterprise potential • develops educational resources around its natural environment

Peripatetic in nature, will move if needs to Artist / Architect Open competition launched Design chosen September 2009
