IDLE ENGINE SPEED:8202 is the engine speed a warm engine will return to when no

additional fueling is being requested. Default: 600 RPM

Cold Ambient Protection/Idle Shutdown Sequence

ENGINE WARM-UP (CAP):9400 –  Cold Ambient Protection is a feature that protects the

engine and improves warm-up by adjusting the idle between 600-1000 rpm when:

•Ambient air temp below 20 °C (68 °F)

•Coolant temp below 70 °C (158 °F)

•Engine has been idling at no load for over 5 minutes

• CANNOT BE ENABLED WITH EATON ULTRASHIFT

IDLE SHUTDOWN TIMER starts counting when IDLE SHUTDOWN MODE is set and thevehicle meets all of the following conditions (and any programmed limits):

•Engine running

•Stationary

CAP is not active- Amber light and audible warning at 30 seconds to go

- Engine shuts down, but all electric features remain operating

- Drivers can RESET or OVERRIDE depending on settings

Cycling the key switch after shutdown enables the engine to be restarted

IDLE SHUTDOWN MODE:7400 enables the Idle Shutdown Timer (IST) and sets the

basic conditions under which it will function:

(0) DISABLE – IST will not function (Cold Ambient Protection is enabled)

(1) PTO OPTION – Engine will not shut down when PTO is engaged

(2) NO LOAD – Engine will shut down if PTO is engaged and engine load is below the

IST IDLE SHUTDOWN MAX ENG TRQ setting

(3) TAMPER PROOF – Operates similar to NO LOAD, but prevents driver fromdisabling the IST

Cycling the key switch after shutdown enables the engine to be restarted

TRANSFER CASE OR TWO-SPEED AXLE

With a manual transmission, the FINAL driveline ratio (transmission ratioX transfer case) is used, NOT the transmission ratio.

With an automatic transmission, limits are always applied by the gear

number, regardless of the state of the transfer case or two-speed axle.

PTO RAMP UP RATE:7507 and PTO RAMP DOWN RATE:7524 set how quickly the

engine will attempt to increase/decrease speed when commanded by the throttle

or selection of presets. Actual speed change is affected by factors including loadand available engine power.

PTO BUMP UP/DOWN STEP:7525 is the amount of increase or decrease in engine

speed called for when the SET and RESUME buttons are pressed and the PTO is

operating in VARIABLE or MOBILE modes.

PTO FORCE FAN ON: 9007 will force the engine fan to engage

whenever the PTO is activated.

PTO DISABLE W/BRAKE PEDAL:7511 will disengage the PTO if the

operator steps on the service brake pedal.

PTO DISABLE W/CLUTCH PEDAL:7510 will disengage the PTO if

the operator steps on the clutch pedal.

PTO ACCEL PDEAL MODE:7513 determines what effect stepping

on the APS (accelerator pedal) has on the PTO.

(0) PTO IGNORES THE APS

(1) APS CAN OVERRIDE PTO

(2) APS DISABLES PTO

PTO MAX ENGINE SPEED:7508 is

the maximum engine speed that can

be reached using PTO controls.

PTO – APS OVERRIDE MAX ENG SPEED:7520 sets the engine speed limit achievable

with the accelerator pedal while the PTO is active.

Note: Parameter only valid when

PTO – APS MODE is set to:

(1) Accelerator override PTO set speed

PTO MIN ENGINE SPEED:7522 sets

lowest engine speed allowed for

PTO operation.

PTO MAX ENGINE LOAD:7519

is the max engine load (as definedby throttle %) allowed during

PTO operation.

PTO CONTROL TO ENGINE LOAD:7530 tells

the engine what action to take upon

reaching the programmed limit:

KICKOUT – The PTO will be disengaged

LIMIT – The engine will stay at the load limit

PTO MAX ENGINE LOAD TIME:7527 is the time

limit for the engine to run at PTO MAX ENGINE LOADuntil the PTO is automatically disengaged.

PTO MAX VEH SPD IN MOBILE PTO:7501 is the maximum vehicle speed that can

be commanded by operator control during PTO operation. Engine speed is NOT

limited by this setting.

PTO ENG SPD LIMIT W/VSS FAULT:7518 can be used to limit engine RPM when

the ECM determines the vehicle speed signal is inactive or inaccurate.

can be set to have the system ignore inputs

(APS, brake, clutch) from the cab when

operating in stationary mode with remote controls.

PTO REMOTE ACCEL PEDAL ENABLE:7504

allows a remote pedal to be used just like

The pedal in the cab when using a PTO.

REMOTE ACCEL PEDAL SWITCH:8914

requires the use of an On/Off switch

with a Remote Accelerator Pedal.

PTO TRANSFER CASE SIGNAL MODE:8910

sets how the vehicle determines speed whenequipped with a split-shaft for PTO operation:

(0) SPLITSHAFT – ECM receives vehicle speed from ABS

(1) DRIVELINE – ECM receives vehicle speed from J1939
