Cold Ambient Protection/Idle Shutdown Sequence
ENGINE WARM-UP (CAP):9400 – Cold Ambient Protection is a feature that protects the
engine and improves warm-up by adjusting the idle between 600-1000 rpm when:
•Ambient air temp below 20 °C (68 °F)
•Coolant temp below 70 °C (158 °F)
•Engine has been idling at no load for over 5 minutes
• CANNOT BE ENABLED WITH EATON ULTRASHIFT
IDLE SHUTDOWN TIMER starts counting when IDLE SHUTDOWN MODE is set and thevehicle meets all of the following conditions (and any programmed limits):
•Engine running
•Stationary
•
CAP is not active- Amber light and audible warning at 30 seconds to go
- Engine shuts down, but all electric features remain operating
- Drivers can RESET or OVERRIDE depending on settings
