Happy New Year everyone! We hope you had a restful, beautiful Christmas and are ready to take 2014 by storm. Thank you to everyone who decorated our church and grotto this year. We have such a wonderful community. FROG's (Fully Rely On God), our Children’s Liturgy Program during 10am Mass, is in full swing today. We are looking forward to seeing the kids and hearing what they have to say. It's always adorable. Our next Parish League meeting will be in the morning hours. We are hoping that this will be a more convenient time. We will let you know as soon as a date is chosen for this month. Join us. There is a lot going on and we welcome fresh faces and ideas. Please join us after Mass for a little bite and coffee. Thanks 3rd grade!

The Southern California Right to Life League will again host a special Youth Rally on the Cathedral Plaza, prior to the Requiem Mass featuring music and inspirational speakers and will begin at 3:00 p.m. on the lower Cathedral Plaza. More information cal be found at www.rtllsc.org. A discounted parking rate of $5 per car will be in effect for the event; carpooling encouraged, traveling via Metro, use Civic Center stop.

Did You Know? What can I do as a parent following a trauma?
Establish a sense of safety and security. It is essential that children feel protected, safe and secure in the aftermath of a trauma. Ensure that all basic needs are met, including love, care and physical close-ness. Spend extra time to let children know that someone will nurture and protect them. Children will need a lot of comforting and reassur-ance. If you would like a copy of the article, “A Parent Handout for Helping Children Heal,” e-mail [email protected]. For particular help, you may call Assistance Ministry at 213-637-7650.
