TASTE OF CEDAR
For the cost of a pair of socks, a big ice cream cone, a car
wash, folks in the eastside heights will be able to delight
their taste buds endlessly.
Imagine having a cookie, a cup cake, a Chinese delicacy, a
hamburger, a pizza slice, yogurt, more Chinese, an Italian
specialty, a gee whiz coffee, a jazzed-up chicken wing and
a fancy soup.
And then do it all over again, and for how much? $10. The
restaurants in Cedar Center are offering a “Taste” of their
businesses, July 14 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and all you
have to do is bring your appetite and a sawbuck.
Beyond that, Rick and Sharona will entertain you with their
lounge act and folks will get a chance to bid on baskets of
food and other goodies. Best of all, the money raised by
this program will help poor elderly people in South Euclid
get their houses fixed. Some elderly families will receive
gifts for Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Tickets for the event will be sold at South Euclid City Hall
in the office of Mayor Georgine Welo, at the South Euclid
Community Center, South Euclid Hardware and from all
the members of the South Euclid Commission on Aging.
For information call, Jim Lawless, president of the
commission at 216-291-4358. Other members are Carrie
Cense, Ronda Flowers, Chuck Ishler, Donald Lisy,
Gwendolyn Strayhan and Maydene Young.
We are about half way through summer and the ‘best part’
is yet to come— The FEST. Join us for the highlight of the
summer season– The FEST on Sunday, August 7 at the
Center for Pastoral Leadership in Wickliffe (30 seconds off
the highway).
The FEST is EVERYTHING you need for the perfect day-
faith—family—and fun–all for FREE. Last year, over
39,000 people from across the region came to our annual
Catholic Family FESTival. It’s the place to be and the
thing to do this summer. To learn more or to get all the
details and schedule for The FEST go to: www.theFEST.us
