Members get a £2.00 reduction. Late entries (ex-catalogue) accepted at an additional
£2 both before and on the day up to one hour before published time of class.
Donation of £2.00 per exhibitor as a contribution for First Aid services.Medical cover
in accordance with British Showjumping Rule 73.8e.
Cars accompanying competitors in lorries, park in the lorry park at their own risk, at a
charge of £10 per car, payable at the gate. Members are entitled to free entry/parking
in the members ringside area. General public entry is £5 per adult, children free with

SUFFOLK HORSES
The Suffolk Horse Society is indebted to the Horserace Betting Levy Board for its
grant, which enables the Society to give premiums and grants to stallion owners.
This show is a qualifier for the Supreme Suffolk Horse Championship.
The horse that qualifies will be eligible for the final competition, which
will take place at the Suffolk Spectacular to be held in September 2015.
This show is affiliated to the Suffolk Horse Society (SHS) and classes 1-19 are qualifiers for
championship points for annually awarded trophies and for the Supreme Suffolk Horse
Championship.
All entries for In Hand classes must be registered in or eligible for registration in the Pedigree
Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book. All entries must state their SHS registration number and
full pedigree name including prefix or affix.
All foals must be eligible for registration in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud
Book. Both the sire and the dam must be registered and entered in the pedigree
section of the UK Suffolk Stud Book.
All stallions must be registered in the Pedigree Section of the UK Suffolk Stud book.
All entries must state their SHS registration number, stallion licence number and full
pedigree name including prefix or affix. Discretionary entry to a stallion class may be allowed
in cases where alicence is pending but not yet issued.

Method of Judging
a. Horses/ponies will enter the ring individually and jump a course of obstacles
designed to produce a maximum of 10 jumping efforts. Course builders are
recommended to avoid fences with a related distance.
b. Each jumping effort will be marked out of 10, at the judge’s discretion.
c. There is no set penalty for a pole down or run out but three refusals will result
in elimination.
d. A fall of a horse or rider will result in elimination.
e. There will be no mark awarded for conformation or manners, but a mark will be
awarded for the overall impression at the completion of each round.
f. In the event of a tie, the overall impression mark will determine final placing.
Should there still be an equality of marks, the jumping marks will be taken into
consideration- the comparison beginning with fence one and continuing thereafter
until a result is achieved.
Class 62 The BSPS Novice WHP, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over,

METHOD OF JUDGING FOR RIDDEN COMPETITION HORSE/PONY
CLASSES
Horses/Ponies to enter the ring individually and will not be ridden by the Judge. To be
judged according to the P(UK) Performance/Competition Class Rules.
Phase 1 Performance and Freestyle Show 60 marks
Phase 2 Conformation, Type and Suitability for Dressage 40 marks
The individual freestyle show to include the following movements in an arena no
larger than 40m x 60m.
Halt, walk on a long rein, ordinary trot serpentine (2 or 3 loop serpentine acceptable),
extended trot on the diagonal, canter serpentine with change of lead, extended canter
on the diagonal. Not to exceed 2 mins.
Class 84 Best Local Pony not exceeding 15hh (153 cm). Rider to be under 16

All shows that are affiliated to the BSPS are qualifiers for the BSPS Challenge.
Leading Rein, First Ridden, Open Show Ponies, Open Nursery Stakes, Open Working
Hunter Ponies ,Open Show Hunter Ponies and Heritage Classes
The highest placed pony that has not qualified for the 2015 Horse of the Year Show,
in the appropriate class, will qualify. If the highest placed pony has already qualified
for the BSPS Challenge, the qualification will be awarded to the next eligible pony.
If, after qualifying, a pony qualifies for the Horse of the Year Show, it will forfeit its
qualification for the BSPS Challenge.
THE BSPS BLACK COUNTRY SADDLES RIDER OF THE YEAR
The Best Rider in each of the following Open classes at all BSPS Affiliated shows
will be awarded a Best Rider card and qualify for the final at the 2015 Supreme

Class 97 Side Saddle Concours d’Elegance
The sole criterion of this class is the elegance of the picture presented by
horse and rider. Attention may be paid to the rider’s personal appearance but
detailed inspection of rider or tack is not required. Fancy dress or period
costume is not permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter.
No individual show is required, but the Judge may ask groups of three or four
riders to give short displays. 4 Special rosettes will be awarded: to the
highest placed Registered Adult members wearing a silk hat, a bowler hat,
safety hat and the highest placed Registered Junior Member of the S.S.A.
carrying their current Championship Points Cards. NB Silk hats are
permitted to be worn by Adults IN THIS CLASS AT ANY TIME OF DAY.
Juniors must wear hats conforming to current British Safety Standards or
above. Adult riders not wearing such hats do so at their own risk

BSPA Classes are open to Skewbald and Piebald horses and ponies only. These
classes are affiliated to the British Skewbald and Piebald Association and are
qualifiers for the World Championships of Colour National Championship Show
2015. All classes will be judged within the rules and criteria of the BSPA (details
from BSPA tel. 01354 638226 or download from www.bspaonline.com) All stallions 4 years and over MUST be graded, Licensed and Registered with BSPA in order
to compete and must carry into the ring their red BSPA Showing ID cards and bridle discs to
be worn.All classes are open to members and non-members but in order to qualify all
owners/handlers/riders must be members of the BSPA and all horses/ponies registered with
the BSPA prior to the show. BSPA qualification cards must be produced in the ring and be
signed by the judge, otherwise the qualification is invalid. In all WCC ridden horse classes
the judge may ride and/or request a display. Qualification is 1-3 in all classes, or 1-4 for
classes exceeding 12.
