SURFSIDE - CALIFORNIABEACH HOUSE

Our vision is for a house that is beautiful and dramatic, coupled with a sense of elegance that is fitting of its spectacular location. It is a house filled with light that connects to the greater natural setting in which it resides. It can hold its inhabitants with intimate and quiet spaces as well as open them out into the view, providing multiple experiences that would facilitate the needs of the various people that may stay there.

Our approach to the project allows us to bring to bear our many years of experience in designing complex houses on small sites. We present a concept proposal for the house that we believe fulfils the practical requirements for the intended brief as well as providing a house that can bring much wellbeing and satisfaction through the way the design has been thought through in all its aspects of amenity, lifestyle and architectural quality.

In particular we have complied with local regulations of the site including setbacks and height restrictions. The living dining has been placed on the top level to take full advantage of the view and sunlight whilst having a direct connection to the outdoor roof terrace. The double garage opens up to the house and side space to create a rumpus room. The design provides 3 bedrooms including a main en-suite on the middle and split levels providing more intimate space for the inhabitants.
