SardisYouth November 2014 @ High School Beach Retreat Thirty-four high school youth and ten adults traveled to Ocean Isles for their annual Beach Retreat on October 3-5. During the retreat, participants learned what it meant to “Stand Out in a Crowd” and stand up for what they believe. We had small group time to explore the theme, group games on the beach, free time to fellowship with each other, and worship to end the retreat. The weekend was a wonderful experience for all involved! Special thank you to the adult leaders who put so much time and energy into helping to make the retreat

Youth Text Message Reminders

The Youth Ministry has created two accounts using www.remind.com, to help remind both parents and youth of upcoming events. To receive text message reminders for middle school, please text @a3026 to 704-710-8534. For high school reminders, please text @97258 to 704-710-8534. This free service (standard text message rates still apply, if any) is open to both parents and youth.

Middle School CROSS Mission Trip High School Take A Break Tuesday

All high school students are invited to participate in the weekly “Take a Break Tuesday” program on

Tuesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Chick-Fil-A on Randolph Road (Cotswold). Come

and have dinner or a snack (please bring money for your food) and a time of Bible study and personal

reflection. We are studying Paul’s letter to the church in Rome (the New Testament book of

Romans) and learn how it applies to our lives. We will examine chapter 5 on November 4, 6 on

November 11, and 7 on November 18. We will not meet on November 25.

Join us for this spiritually rewarding program!

Charlotte CROP Walk Pumpkinpalooza

Eight middle school and five high school students, along with several adults, participated in the CROP Walk on Sunday, October 19. They

walked the 6 kilometer walk to help stomp out hunger, one step at a time!

The middle school students visited two Charlotte residents on Sunday, October 25 to lend a hand in their yards. They cut grass and removed ivy from one gentleman’s fence. These homeowners were grateful for our assistance, as they could not do

the work themselves. Thank you, middle school youth, for lending a hand!

Middle school and high school students came out to help support the annual Pumpkinpalooza on Saturday, October 25. Children from the community came out and enjoyed the wonderful games and activities that our church sponsored, giving them a safe place to enjoy!

Youth Fellowship in Full Swing

Both the high school and middle school groups enjoyed wonderful programs on Sunday evenings in October. During the month, the middle school students played scooter games, launched gourdes, and assisted people with their yard work, while studying about what it means to live out their faith in our everyday lives. The high school students, in addition to their retreat and participating in the CROP Walk, had small group discussions dealing with peer pressures and a guest speaker talk about domestic violence. November will have more opportunities to be involved in the Youth Ministry of Sardis Presbyterian Church, so come be a part!
