Special Thanks to EGivers

St. Peter the Apostle would like to thank the 400+ families who
are currently giving electronically. You may not see these fellow
parishioners place an envelope in the basket every week, but
their consistent giving does not go unnoticed in our parish
office. Each month our parish receives a steady and predictable
stream of income from those donors who have made the com‐
mitment to give to God first by having a designated contribu‐
tion automatically transferred to our parish through our Online
Giving Program.

If you would like to learn more about this easy, safe and secure
way of giving, please contact the Business Manager, Mary Cone‐
jo or check out our website at www.stpeternaples.org. Scroll
down near the bottom of the website and find the Keys where it
says “Make a Secure Donation”. Follow the easy step by step
instructions and then relax knowing that your secure donation
is making a difference.

God Bless and thank you for your continued support of St. Peter
the Apostle Parish.

Next Sunday Will Be
The Fourteenth Sunday
of Ordinary Time –
July 5, 2020
Matthew 10, 37-41

The complicated life style of our age
induces anxiety or boredom. Faced
with too many options, our minds
panic, lose proportion, race wildly
among all possibilities. Boredom is
not nothing to do. It is too many
things to do. Boredom is a lack of im-
agination, energy and hope. Boredom
is just another word for “nothing I
want to do.” Complexity blunts con-
science. For simple people like the
poor, life is not a problem. Existence
is a problem; food and shelter and
clothing are problems so much so
that life itself remains a mystery.
To question life, to wonder what it
means, is the luxury of satisfied peo-
ple. We need to distinguish complexi-
ty from artificial confusion we create
for ourselves. We may not be able to
halt universal violence, but we can be
a people of peace. We may not be
able to feed and house everybody, but
we can control appetites. We may
not be able to offset the effects of
peer pressure, but we can discipline
our own children. Revelation comes
to us as God’s gift – as relief. Com-
plexity sometimes makes us surren-
der when there is another option:
Simplicity. This choice puts us back
in charge, gives us command and en-
dows us with responsibility. This is
not child’s work. Only adults can do
it. That kind of work, that kind of
simplicity is what disposes us to re-
ceive the revelation, the knowledge
of Jesus which brings peace of mind,
gentleness of spirit, and healing,
comforting grace to those who are
tired and burdened.

Prayer During A Health Crisis

“Compassionate and Loving Father,
In the face of confusion and concern
impart to us the calm of your presence.
In You allow us to find hope and healing.
Be with those who serve the sick and give them
Your caring hands.
Be with those who lead and give them
Your Spirit of wisdom.
Be with those who have fallen ill and give them
Your comfor"ng heart.
Wrap your arms around our world
and hold us in your love.
Allow us at this "me of trial to then
serve as instruments of that love to all we meet.
We ask this in Your Name.”
Amen.

COMMUNITY OF
CATHOLIC WOMEN

We wish all our CCW members and all the
parishioners of St. Peter the Apostle Parish a very happy,
healthy and safe summer. We are all living through some
difficult times and we pray we adjust to the changes
quickly and return to a “new normal” whatever that is or
will be. Thank you for all your support throughout this
past season. We could not have accomplished what we
did without you.

For our members who will remain in Naples throughout
the summer we will be hosting a small brunch gathering
before the First Friday 12noon Mass for July, August and
September at the Lely “Skillets” Restaurant, Stock Plaza,
7711 Collier Boulevard, Naples 34113 again. At this time
St. Peter’s is not celebrating 8am Masses. If the Mass
schedule changes we will notify you in a later bulletin. The
restaurant is now following the newest State COVID19
directives which do not require 6 ft distancing between
tables. Ladies will be seated 4 per table. Please use your
own discretion when deciding on participation.

Our first CCW Summer Breakfast will be held on Fri-
day, July 3
rd
, 2020 at 10:00 am with Mass afterward at
12 noon. To make a reservation please contact Judy Ge-
linas @ [email protected] or telephone or text
(239)5953285. Unfortunately we need to limit our reser-
vations to 25 participants so we are accepting reserva-
tions on a first come/first serve basis. Reservations are
absolutely necessary, especially during this COVID
19 regulation stage. All staff and servers will be wearing
face masks. We look forward to seeing you…so remem-
ber to sign up early…every participant will pay for their
meal individually. All ladies of the parish are welcome to
join us.

season.
Prayer for Safety
In Hurricane Season
O God, Master of this passing world,
hear the humble voices of your children.
The Sea of Galilee obeyed Your order
and returned to its former quietude.
You are still the Master of land and sea.
We live in the shadow of a danger
over which we have no control:
the Gulf, like a provoked and
angry giant, can awake from its seeming
lethargy, overstep its conventional
boundaries, invade our land, and
spread chaos and disaster.
During this hurricane season we
turn to You, O loving Father.
Spare us from past tragedies whose
memories are still so vivid and whose
wounds seem to refuse to heal with
passing of time.
O Virgin, Star of the Sea, Our beloved
Mother, we ask you to plead with your
Son on our behalf, so that spared from
the
calamities common to this area and
animated with a true spirit of gratitude,
we will walk in the footsteps of your
Divine Son to reach the heavenly
Jerusalem, where a stormless
eternity awaits us. Amen.

Mary gave flesh to Godflesh to be visible to
human eyes, flesh to touch the leper’s
wounds.

Mary gave hands to God hands to bless the
little children, hands to break bread for the
hungry.

Mary gave feet to Godfeet to walk among
the sick, feet to go in search of the sinner.

Mary gave eyes to Godeyes to weep at a
friend’s grave, eyes to look into the human
heart.

Jesus no longer walks in flesh today. If he is
to be seen by human eyes, it must be in and
through us.

If he is to continue to heal the sick, touch
the leper, and bless the children, it must be
with our hands and feet.

If he is to continue to feed the hungry, and

As Mary gave flesh to Jesus in her day, we
must give flesh to Jesus in our day.

And if we do as Mary did, Jesus will walk
among us once again and make our world

L
Te hubieras derrumbado, si Él no
te hubiera ayudado. Hubieras perecido, si Él no hubiera venido» (Sermón,
185,1). Entonces, ¿por qué no acogerlo en nuestra vida? (Benedicto XVI, Viernes
Santo, 10 de Abril de 2009).
Buen Comienzo de Semana y que Dios los bendiga abundantemente!
