It is properly distanced from therailway linebut not turningits back towardsit.Greenareasurroundsthe communi- ty programs that functions as an intermediary between theroad and rail lines to the though programs. This disposition,as well as givinga open fa cadeto thecity, provides thesite with non restrictingprograms, which ensures that theland can beused at any time. DETAIL PLAN UNITONE - LEVELONE Thesmall commerceis located here.It is connected to thestitch with an open deck that serves as a prelud e to the shops and as theroof for theparking underneath itself:for every meter taken by cars you gain a meter as public space. This level has thefunction ofactivating theconnection paths and maintaining a dynamic flow on t hestitch. The next four levels areresidential, they maintain a stableamount ofusers in the place and providethemissingsecurity on the site. PROJECT SECTION PROJECT VIEWS h N A urban pack was designed to fill it and providethesitewith new different conectio ns:a pedestr ians way and a cycling path. Both comealongwith arborization, theproper urban structurelikebenchesandwaterfountains, andagreen field underthebridge.Thebridge’s structureprovid es thelighting. PROJECT COMPONENTS Christchurc h has been battered with theprevious earthquakes that struck thecity.Within this context our holeclass aim was to research and proposenew outlines for thefutureofthecity itself.Todoso, eachstudentgrouptookoverdifferentproblematiczonestofurtherdevelop theseschemes. Our groupchooseTower Junction and after researchingtogether wedevelo- ped threedifferent solutions for theproblems wefocused on. Themain objectiveofthis project is solvingtheexistingdisconnection in thesitefocusing ontherailway, presentingtheproblemsitcarriesnowdaysandtryingto developanewway in which thecity interacts with this strongelement ,in hope that this may serveto encoura- getheconstruction ofa better city.
