3 Steps to Getting the Most Out of Today’s Event:
Welcome to the 13th Annual College & Career Convention.
This event will help put you on the path toward higher education and lifelong success.
In a competitive economy, earning a college degree is a crucial investment toward a nancially secure and ful lling future. Most careers today require some form of postsecondary education. While the rising cost of higher education might make you worry that college is out of reach, it is important to know that nancial assistance is available. Studies show that often, the barrier to higher education isn’t a lack of nancial aid – it’s that students can’t get the information and application assistance to access it. The College and Career Convention is about making your education and career goals more affordable and attainable.
From California’s system of community colleges and universities, vocational and trade schools to our prestigious independent colleges and universities, there is a place for everyone to learn. With abundant nancial aid resources – including programs unique to California like Cal Grants and the California Dream Act – there are nancial assistance options for everyone.
I hope that your time at the Convention helps you discover new resources that bring you closer to ful lling your dreams.
My best wishes for a successful event and for your continued success.
Sincerely,
A Message from Mayor Eric Garcetti
