I. ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
STAFF ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacherdemonstrates. The great teacher inspires. Inspiring teachers alone can build thenation with students’ power. The Christ College is committed in building thenation by making its faculty members the great teachers who not only inspires butinnovates. Therefore, the Faculty Development Programme for teaching staffmembers and non-teaching staff members were conducted separately on 14th and15th June 2019.
As per the schedule, the staff members were taken to Mount Olive OBT –Leadership Development Institute at Othivakkam village, Kachipuram district. Mr.Jesuraj Santiago, Ex. CRPF and a renowned trainer who is also a specialist inproviding leadership development and team building training for corporateindustries and the academic institutions. He welcomed everyone and offered a briefintroduction about the training programme. It was so inspiring that the facultymembers were self motivated to participate various games and events as part ofskill development programme. It was a different sort of experience to stand in themiddle surrounded by flowers, plants and trees that extends five acres. Playinggames under a good trainer in a village atmosphere was so refreshing. All thesessions were enlightening and enthusiastic. With a renewed zeal, the inspiredfaculty members determined to carry the enthusiasm throughout the academic year.
BRIDGE COURSE – AN INDUCTION PROGRAMME FOR THE 1ST YEAR STUDENTS
Adopting the new environment, alleviating fear, self motivation, improvingcommunication and voluntary participation are the objectives of conducting BridgeCourse. The Bridge course is offered for the first ten days to bridge the gapbetween school and college life providing with the basic understanding of thesubjects they study. The Bridge course was successfully conducted from 24th Juneto 5th July for the academic year 2019-2020. The students were offered the basicsof English, Mathematics, Accountancy and computer applications by the respective

staff members who handle the subjects. Motivation and value education were alsooccupied the schedule. Beside all these, a special and individual training wasoffered to improve their handwriting. Sincere thanks to Rev.Fr. Louis Vembliath,the Rector, Christ College, for his dedication and commitment in teaching thetechniques of handwriting. A special thanks to the Department of English forcoordinating the course successfully.
CLASS COUNSELORS
Inculcating academic interest and nurturing discipline are the two eyes of ChristCollege. A continuous and comprehensive evaluation is the key to achieve theseand therefore we introduced class counselor system. The faculty members areappointed for each class from the department to look after the overall developmentof each student individually. It is a unique system where the students emotionalwell being is checked once in often, through personal guidance and counseling, toenable their progress in academics and help the personality development.

The Student Council is an independent body in Christ College that works closelywith the administration to identify and fulfill the basic necessities of the students.The office bearers for the Students Council will be elected by the staff membersduring staff meeting. II. CELEBRATIONS AND EVENTS
INVESTITURE CEREMONY OF THE STUDENT COUNCIL
The Investiture Ceremony is a programme conducted by the Student Council tohonor the newly elected office bearers by giving away the badges of responsibility.For this academic year, the Student Council conducted the Investiture Ceremonyon 20th July 2019 at 10.45 a.m. As Rev. Fr. Antony Jeya Kumar, the Rector, St.Thomas Collegiate Seminary and the chief guest of the event, gave away thebadges; the students were thrilled to receive the badges of responsibility brimmingwith proud and confidence on their face. After receiving the pledge, they took anoath to set the role model for other students
FRESHER’S DAY
The Fresher’s Day is conducted every year to give warm welcome to the first yearstudents. For the academic year 2019-2020, the Fresher’s Day began at 11.15 a.m.with a blissful prayer session conducted by the students of the Department ofEnglish. The programme schedule was filled with so many innovative events suchas Classical welcome dance, Poetry reciting, thematic drama and a motivationalsong. The newly enrolled students, teaching and non-teaching staff members werewelcomed joyfully.
TEACHERS DAY
The Teachers’ Day celebration is a grand occasion celebrated to honor theteachers’ for their service to the students. Dr. Velraj, Director, Institute fromEnergy Studies, Anna University was invited as Chief Guest. The Department ofCommerce arranged the programme. Before the programme was getting started,the tree saplings were planted by the chief guest and the faculty members wereinvited into the auditorium with thunder applause by the students. The welcomeaddress was performed in the form of Villu Pattu followed by English comedy play

had drawn appreciation across audience. Dr. Velraj, our chief guest delivered aninspiring address to the young audience. The programme was concluded with thenational anthem.
PARENTS MEET
Parent-Teachers meet is an interesting and also a significant event in our college.Nearly 99% of students and their parents turned out for the odd semester parentsmeet. The Department of Mathematics organized the parents meet for BBA andB.Com. Departments on 14th September 2019. The Department of BusinessAdministration conducted the Parent-Teachers meet for B.Sc. Computer Scienceand Mathematics, B.C.A. and B.A. English on 21st September 2019.
Parent-Teachers meet for BBA and B.Com. for the even semester was conductedby the Mathematics department on 08th February 2020. The BusinessAdministration department conducted even semester Parent-Teacher meet forM.Sc. Computer Science, M.Com., M.S.W., B.Sc. Computer Science andMathematics, B.C.A. and B.A. English on 15th February 2020. Overall, 90% of thestudents along with their parents appeared for the meet. All the meetings weresuccessfully conducted.
JOY OF GIVING
Joy of Giving is the charitable programme organized every year during Christmascelebrations. The students and faculty members cutting across religion, caste andcreed are able to come out in supporting the poor and economically marginalized.The students used to contribute in the form of money or material on their owncapacity. This year, the joy of giving was celebrated on 20th December 2019. Thejoy of festive season is marked by inviting the people who truly deserve the helpand sharing gifts and donations are the major event. This year, children from IniyaUdhayam Charitable Trust from Avadi were invited and given the gifts.

Little deeds of kindness and little words of love make the earth happy as theheaven above. May God bless our staff members and students thousand fold fortheir overwhelming generosity.
CHRISTMAS
Christmas celebration is one of the joyful events that mark the end of the calendaryear and bring forth the festive mood among all. This year the ChristmasCelebration was held on 20th December 2019 organized by the Department ofComputer Applications with the theme, “God presence is everywhere”. Rev. Fr.Joseph Manickam, former Secretary or our college, Mrs. Roseline Kayalvizhi,HopeEver Foundation and Rev. Fr. Alwin were invited as chief guests whodelivered Christmas message and conveyed New Year (2020) wishes to everyonepresent there. The programme schedule includes dance, drama, song and a mimeabout the life of Jesus Christ. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the events and sharedthe wishes. Finally, the Santa Clause closed the curtain to end the programme.
WOMEN’S DAY
International Women’s’ Day was organized by the department of ComputerScience on 6th of March. Mrs. Roselind Kayalvizhi was invited as Chief Guest.The celebrations focused on exploring into Women Empowerment andachievements. Girl students and women staff members were honoured during theprogramme. Several entertainment events were also planned and executedperfectly.

III. ASSOCIATION AND CLUBS
In the name of active learning, the college provides students with both academicand non-academic clubs, organizations and sports teams to promote personal andprofessional development. Every department has an association with a set ofobjective that explores different interest. To engage the students in active learning,innovation, and thinking and to develop core competence, the College encouragesthe students to enroll themselves in association of their respective departments.Membership in the association is mandatory.
SPARKS
SPARKS 2019 - through the computer science and applications association,organized a one day project development training programme to all the final yearComputer Science and Computer Application students and post graduate students.Dr. Jerald, Assistant professor, Department of Computer Science and Applicationfrom Loyola College taken a seminar and gave the demonstration to develop aproject to the students. All the students were interactively participated the trainingprogramme and learned a lot.
We conducted one day seminar on software development for all the students, theresource person Mr. Sathish Kumar Kannan, Chief Executive Officer at AbhisOverseas Educampus Pvt. Ltd., India ,Founder & Managing Director at WHYGlobal Services, India , Technical Director at Alpha Omega InformationTechnologies, Singapore.
E.A – 2020 (ENHANCE ACUITY IN MATHEMATICS):
As part of the association activity the Department of Mathematics conductedexhibition with the theme ‘Enhance Acuity in Mathematics’, on 2nd February2020. Nearly 200 charts and 20 models with mathematical concepts and formulaewere exhibited at Science block and Arts block. Video shows and arithmetic games

were other attractions during the exhibition. Besides these they conducted memorytest and aptitude tests to improve and grasp the mental ability skill on the previoussession. Finally the winners were awarded on that day.
EVOLV–ENG – 2019
5th October 2019 created an ambiance of sublime illusion for all the Christites inexposing and exploring the beauty of English language. The day made the studentsto be enthusiastic in participating and receiving valuable insights. The Departmentof English organized the Exhibition as part of their association activity. Elocution,Essay, and Poetry competitions helped them to be aware of their literary skills andtalents. The fantasy characters; Aladdin and Genie hosted the whole events.Fictional and historical characters relived through live models in a ballroomsetting, mind blowing games to improve English, colorful thought provokingcharts and video presentation to have insights to easily learn the language, werepart of the events. Finally the play ‘Antagone’ was performed as a treat to allstudents.
VEERAMAMUNIVAR-2020 TAMIL
As part of their association activity the department of Tamil organized anexhibition on 11.01.2020 with the theme “MUTHAMIZH”. Based on the themestudents recited the poems from Thirukural. Tamil speech, Tamil poetry, Tamilessay writing competition, Tamil drama were the other interesting events held onthe day. Students also presented Tamil folk dance, Tamil songs, and street play.Tamil Parampariya Velayatukal was conducted. The stage back drop wasdecorated with traditional Tamil cultural palm tree. Charts, video shows,documentation on Tamil culture were the other activities conducted by theassociation. Pongal celebration was the special exciting activity of theVeeramamunivar association. All the students came in traditional attire and tookactive part in all the activities of the association and enjoyed.

CAPITA - 2020
The Department of Commerce had arranged the Association Seminar to edify thestudents on the topic, “The impact of social media on the consumer decisionprocess” and the resource person was Dr Arul Suresh from Loyola College,Nungambakkam, Chennai. The program was held on 16-07-2019. The lecture gavehis ideas, views and theoretical explanation on the topic and the question andanswer session was conducted. Then the program concluded with the nationalanthem.
AICUF MEETINGS
In Christ College, AICUF members is a very active group in College and itfunction with motto “We are born in unjust society, we are determined not leave aswe found it”.
AICUF is an organized group actively functioning in our College. They conductvarious functions and awareness programs to create awareness among the studentsabout the social-political problems. On 01-08-2019, the AICUF studentsparticipated in the debate show in MADHA TV and it was telecasted on 15th ofAugust, Independence Day.
From, 05-10-2019 to 07-10-2019 the AICUF members have participated in statelevel conference which was conducted in St. Joseph’s College, Trichy; and on 17thand 18th of January, the members have also participated in another state levelconference.
In our College, a workshop on leadership quality was conducted for the AICUFstudents on 13th and 14th of January, organized by Nehru Yuvakendra.Importantly, on 16-07-2019, Dr Arul Suresh and on 12-10-2019, Mr. Hercules theAICUF state level representatives visited our College and our AICUF members.
AICUF students along with the Department of Commerce associate with “THEE”a NGO is going to organize one day program called “KANGU” for all our Collegestudents on 27th of March this year.
As a regular activity, every month the AICUF students come together for themeetings and discuss about the current social, economic and political issues.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME & RED RIBBON CLUB
The N.S.S. & R.R.C. Units of Christ College is very active. This year they havetaken Golden Jubilee year of 50 in NSS.
N.S.S. & R.R.C. students organized Blood Donation Camp and Social AwarenessProgramme on 5th Sep 2019. Totally Blood Donate gave 111 students and 11Assistant Professor.
N.S.S. & R.R.C. Students have taken up Campus Cleaning in the month of Julyand September 2019.
N.S.S. & R.R.C. students participated in two days workshop of youth leadershipand Community Development 2019-2020.

PERSONAL COUNSELLING:
Rev. Fr. Louis Vembliath, the Rector and Fr John Maria Joseph are the StudentCounselor in the College. Every student is given individual attention and guided byclouding their mental and physical health conditions. The students receive moralsupport and experience growth during challenging times in life. They deal everystudent periodically on various issues like depression, anxiety, substance abuse,marriage and relationship challenge. All the class counselors assist them in thisprocess.
CRISTA: CHRISTITE SKILL TRAINING ACTIVITY
Christite skill training activity is an innovative programme conducted everyWednesday morning for half an hour to help the students explore their hiddentalents, organization skill and polish their inherent creative abilities. Suchparticipation is helping the students to enhance their soft skills, spoken English,communication skills, self confidence, self esteem, social interaction team workand team spirit. The class counselors play a key role in motivation and guidingtheir class students to conduct the programme. A special word of appreciation forall the class counsellors for making a sincere effort in training the students tomaintain the standard. Unique feature of the programme is that every student of theclass is motivated and encouraged to take part and to deliver their part only inEnglish.

Christ College gives importance for Sports and Games in the annual academicprogram. We do realize that the sports increase the students in life skills, sense ofempowerment, self-confidence, societal relations, besides helping them to dealwith failure and uncompromising situations.
Inter-Departmental sports competitions are conducted every year for all theDepartments of under graduation to recognize, appreciate, realize and endorse thesportive spirit of talented youngsters. This year the competitions began on 5th ofAugust 2019 with the inauguration and continued and ended on the sports day on10th August 2019. An official committee was formed under the guidance of Mr.Sebastian Fredrick, the sports coordinator and the members of the committee wereMrs. Kotteeswari, Fr. John Maria Joseph, Fr. Christopher, Fr. Pradeep, Fr. JamesMichael Raj, Mr. Peetirajan, Mr. Sridhar, Mr. Baladhandayudham, Mr. Samraj,Mr. Leo Clement. Mr. Dhanasekar and Mr. Senthil.
Fr. Praveen, Fr. John Maria Joseph, Mr. Alex, Mr. Chandramohan, Mr. NaveenKumar, Mr. Prashanth, Mr. Samuel Johnson, Mr. Manoj Kumar and Mr. TharunKumar were the umpires for all sports and games. All the Group Games wereawarded with 30,20,10 and 05 points and the Track and Field Events were awardedwith 10,07,04 points.
For girls events such as Shot Put, Long Jump along with track events 5000mtrs,3000mtrs, 1500mtrs, 800mtrs, 400mtrs, 200mtrs, 100mtrs, 4 X 200mtrs, 4 X100mtrs were conducted. For the boys Track Events 10,000mtrs, 5000mtrs,1500mtrs, 800mtrs, 400mtrs, 200mtrs, 100 mtrs,4 X 400mtrs,4 X 100mtrs wereconducted along with Shot Put and Long Jump.
Volley Ball, Basketball and Football, were conducted for boys, Throw ball,Tennicoit and Square Ball were conducted for girls. Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, Carrom

and Chess were conducted for both boys and girls. All most 525 students, bothboys and girls fervently participated with full passion and power.
The College celebrated its 11th Annual Sports Meet - 2019 on Saturday 10th ofAugust, 2019. Mr. Raman Vijayan, Former International football player, Founder& Director of Noble Football Academy, gracefully acknowledged being the chiefguest of the day. Dr. Sethu Kumanan, Correspondent, Soka Ikeda College of Arts& Science for Women, Chennai, consented to be special guest of honor. Mr.Jeevannadam, President, Noble Football Academy, consented to be the guest ofhonor. Mr. Fernanadez, Proprietor, Waves Garments, Chennai, consented to be theguest of honor.
In the history of the College for the first time we had conducted the sports dayprogram in the College grounds. The ground looked colorful with all thedepartments with spectacular color jerseys and everyone witnessed colorful March-Past by all six Departments, B.Sc. Computer Science in Blue, BCA in Red, BBA inYellow, B.Com. in Green, B. Sc. Mathematics in Grey and B.A. English in Violetcolor jerseys and saluted the guests.
In the chief guest’s address Mr. Raman Vijayan said that he has witnessed theactive and sportive spirit of the rural youngsters. He also shared his own life storyhow he developed himself to be the national football player from the ruralbackground. The dream was possible only with his self confidence and hard work.He appreciated the sporting spirit shown by the students. He whole heartedlypraised the College management for undertaking such events for the betterment ofthe students to excel in sports and games and wished the students for their brightfuture.
The highlight of the day was conducting the track events of 100mtrs finals and4x100mtrs relay for men and women. The pyramids and acrobatic competitionswere the special attraction of the day. They enthralled the Spectators and receivedappreciations from the Dignitaries and audience. Dr. A. L. Antony Sebastianprincipal appreciated the students for their competitive spirit, and encouraged themto achieve great things in their future endeavors.
To appreciate the winners and runners up of various group games and individualevents were presented with medals and certificates by the chief guest. The

Individual Champion for 2019 was bagged by Mr. Sivasakthi. N. (BBA). TheDepartment of Commerce came with flying colors as overall sports champions forthe academic year 2019-2020. The Department of Business Administration securedsecond place. The Trophies were given to the winners by Mr. Raman Vijayan, theChief Guest of the day. The overall program was anchored by Mr. Peeti Rajan B.and Mrs. Geetha. Thanks to Mr. Sebastin Fedrick, Mrs. Kotteeswari and their teamfor their fantastic coordination and success.

SALVO 2019: INTERDEPARTMENTAL CULTURAL FEST
Inter departmental cultural events; SALVO 2019 was conducted on 13th and 14thDecember 2019 by the cultural committee with the help of the student council Mrs.Deepa Sundari. K, Assistant Professor, department of Computer Applicationorganized the events. Unlike last year, Salvo 2019 was planned for two days (foursessions) due to individual participation of PG. All the events were planned toexhibit the talents and creativity of the students
The first session started around 09.15am. The events like Tamil elocution, Tamilpoetry followed by English elocution and English poetry were drawn appreciationfrom the audience. Group singing and instrumental play were also scheduled in thissession Mr. Murugappan Annamalai-CEO & Founder @ Info cycle Technologies,Mr. Suresh Ramanathan-Advocate, High Court, Mr. Narayanan Ravishankar,Playback singer & Airtel Super Singer were invited as chief guests. Thedepartments of BBA and BA English were given session in-charge. They weretaking care of MC’s, welcome address and vote of thanks. The session endedaround 1.00pm
The second session began around 01.30 pm. Rangoli, Drawing and Wastemanagement were the major events during this session. The judges for this sessionwere Mrs. S. Reena Joshphine, Legal Assistance & Support, Business consultant,Mrs. A. Vimaladevi, Design Academy (Drawing Painting), Mrs. E. Caroline,Sadhika Beauty Parlor & SK Academy, Thiruvallur. The department of Computerscience was given the responsibility for this session. They took care of MC’s,welcome address and vote of thanks. The session ended at 04. 40pm.This rang thebell for the day one for SALVO 2019
The second day began with the third session of SALVO 2019. The prayer sessionstarted at 09.10am. The programme started at 09.15am. The events scheduled forthis session were Western dance and traditional dance. The judges set for thissession were Mr. Sanjay, Western dance Choreograher, Mrs. Anagha Anish,Arudhrayalam Academy of Dance and Mrs. Dhivyadharshini, Director,Nrityakshetra School of Dance. The departments of Computer Application andMathematics were given the responsibility for delivering MC, welcome addressand vote of thanks. The students performed with dedication and commitment. The

judges highly appreciated the performance of the students. The session ended at12.30pm. Then, the students went to have their lunch.
The fourth and final session started at 01.15pm. The session picked up themomentum the moment it began. The major events in this session were Mime,Street Play and Video Documentation. The students showed their creativitythrough their performance. The judges were unbiased and encouraging the studentsreferring to their strength and weakness. The crew comprises of Mr. Vijay VictorYesudoss, Actor (Nan, Adangamaru), Mr. George Maryan, Actor (Kalakappu,Madharasapattinam, Mr. Vimal Alex, Assitant Director (Kandhasamy) and Mr.Nirmal Felix, Actor (Bachelor). The performance of the students created awarenessamong the audience. The departments of BCA and BSC, (Mathematics) took theresponsibility of delivering MC, welcome address and vote of thanks
Before announcing the results, Dr A. L. Antony Sebastian, the principal thankedeach and every one for the success of Salvo – 19. He congratulated the culturalcommittee, student council and all those who contributed to the successfulcompletion of SALVO 2019.
Overall championship of SALVO 2019 was won by BA (English) and the secondplace was achieved by BBA. Finally, the colorful cultural festival was ended upwith the National Anthem at 04.00pm.

The Student Council under the leadership of Mr Prithiviraj, Student Council Advisor and along with other departments conducted a colourful cultural programme. Dr A L Anthony Sebastian, Principal, read out the Annual Report. The Staff and the Students who have achieved in Academics were awarded with cash prizes, Medals and Certificates.
9th CONVOCATION
Most.Rev.Dr.George Anthonysamy, Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore, Rev. Dr. Andrew Francis SJ, Former Principal. Loyola College, Chennai were the Chief Guests for the 9th Convocation. Dr A L Anthony Sebastian, Principal read out the achievements of the College, Students and Staff. Rev Dr Andrew Francis gave the convocation address and Archbishop felicitated the Graduands and Parents on the occassion. The passed out 252 students of 2018-19 batch were awarded with their Degrees in various Departments. This was a solemn function, conducted with decorum, under the guidelines of the University of Madras. Parents, Graduands, present Final Years, Staff and the Management members participated and appreciated the manner with which the convocation was conducted.

GUEST LECTURE FOR PROJECT
The Department of Commerce organized a guest lecture for the final year studentson 10.07.19 and 11.07.19, presenting the inputs and guidelines for efficientprojects. Fr. James Michal Raj, Controller of Examination, Christ College, was theresource person. He introduced the importance of projects and provided tips toselect a topic. He continued to elaborate on the format of the projects in the nextday’s session. The Second Guest Lecture was conducted on 17.12.2019. TheResource person was Assistant Professor Mr. D. Balaji, Department ofmathematics. His discussion was about the usage of statistical tools. He gave anauthentic and practical approach to it and students were benefited out of it.

IX. UNIQUE EXTENSION ACTIVITY
KANGU
The Department of Commerce and A.I.C.U.F. of Christ College organizes a oneday social awareness program "Kangu’ in association with the N.G.O. ‘THEE’every year. It sensitizes the students on various levels relating to socio / politicalaspects and current issues. On 27.03.2020 ‘KANGU’ will be organized in JIT,Kunnam, focusing on Women Empowerment, C.A.A., N.R.C. and other socio-political problems. We are very grateful to Dr Marie Wilson, Director JIT and MsSaradha Devi, Thee NGO for helping us to conduct this programme.
VETRAL URUTHI EXTENSION PROGRAMME
Christ Arts and Science College boasts of extending it’s help in forming the schoolchildren in and around Kilachery, especially the 12th standard students who arepreparing for the board examinations. The staff members of Christ College visited20 schools located in Kilachery, Pannur, Molachur, Sriperumbudur, Pondure,Tirutani, Poonamalle, Kadambathur, Thiruvallur, Arakonam, Thandalam,Sagayathottam. The team met nearly 3000 students and gave them an orientationon

The team wished the students with a pen with a success message and Exam Time-Table Card. All the schools were thankful to the college for the service.
The same school students were invited for a competition based on their ownsubjects on 30th November, 2019. Quiz, Role play, Ad, Sudoku, Puzzle, LiveModels were the various competitions. From 15 schools nearly 450 students and 30teachers were present in Christ Arts and Science College campus. All of themparticipated in all the competitions and won prizes. It added successful support forthe 12th standard students in the upcoming examinations.

X. POST GRADUATE DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES
The Post Graduation Departments came into existence in 2016, and offers atpresent following courses: M.S.W., M.Com. and M.Sc. Computer Science. It is afull-fledged two-year post graduate programme that follows the norms and thesyllabi of University of Madras and conducts the semester end universityexaminations. The academic year 2019-2020 has begun with eagerness andenthusiasm through the new joiners expecting to explore in their own stream ofP.G. courses.
INTERNSHIP
As the part of the university norms, all the Post Graduate Students should carry on4 to 6 weeks internship during the first year summer vacation.

The collegesigned a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Loyola College, Chennaiunder the PARAMARSH Scheme started by UGC on 6th December 2019. Thecollege selected twelve faculty members to form a core team of IQAC. Theygathered once in a week for a meeting in IQAC-CELL to discuss about theupdating of their work for NAAC. The core team started preliminary work ofNAAC from creation of AISHE code. Upto now the core team members haveattended two workshop conducted by Loyola college, Chennai. Our college IQACteam also conducted a one day workshop on “IQAC – NAAC PreparationTechniques and Importance” on 29th January 2020. Dr. Xavier Mahimairaj, IQACCoordinator, Loyola College was invited as a resource person and Dr.Aulamma,Animator of IQAC Cell, Christ College, Kilachery cordially participated in theworkshop. The core team elected a three members team from faculty members andfive members team from student to march towards the achievement of getting A+in first cycle of NAAC Accreditation.
NATIONAL CONFERENCE
For the first time Department of Commerce and Department of BusinessAdministration jointly organized one day National Conference on the topic“Transformation of Commerce, Management and Technology for SustainableEconomic Growth” on 15th November 2019. Many academicians and Scholarsfrom various colleges and universities in and around the nation participated in it.
Dr. S. Aravindan, the Convenor, of the conference proposed the welcome address.Rev. Fr. Harry Williams, Secretary of the College honored the chief guests anddelivered the presidential address and Dr. Chinnammai, Professor, Department ofEconomics, University of Madras had delivered the key note address on the topic

“Sustainable Economic Growth”. Dr. Julis Ceaser, Associate Professor, P.G. andResearch Department of Commerce, St. Joseph College, Trichy was the moderatorthe panel discussion session. Four resource persons Dr. Manigandan, Dr.Selvakani, Dr. Kanchana Goudar and Mr. Nebu Cheriyan from various states ie,Kerela, Karantaka and Tamilnadu participated and shared their views in thediscussion session.
Nearly 50 academicians and scholars participated and presented their papers in thepaper presentation session Dr. Arul Suresh, Assistant Professor, Department ofCommerce, Loyola College had summarized the session Mr. Ajay Adento Prakash,Director, Galaxy Controls Pvt. Ltd, Chennai had delivered the valedictory address.Best research papers were awarded with certificates. Rev. Fr. Anthony Sebastianhad given a brief about the conference. At last the organizing Secretary of theConference Dr. J. Suresh proposed the vote of thanks and the programme came toended with National Anthem.
INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR
On February 24th, The Department of Business Administration conducted theInternational Seminar on “The Impact of current year Budget in Business andManagement 2020”.
Dr. S.Sankar headed the International seminar as a convener and Mr. Antony Daswas the secretary for the International seminar.
The International seminar was held at SMR Auditorium of Christ Arts and ScienceCollege and the session began by 1.00 pm.
Dr. B. Nimaladhasan, professor and Head Department of Accounting, Faculty ofManagement Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna was invited as the keynote speaker from Srilanka. Along with him Dr. Solayappan, Assistant professorDepartment of Business Administration, SSS Government Arts College Tiruttaniwas invited.
During the Inaugural session Rev. Fr. Harry Williams the Secretary, Rev. Fr.A.L.Antony Sebastian the Principal, Rev. Fr. Arulmani Joseph the Vice principalwere present along with the key note speaker.

The welcome note was delivered by Dr. Aravindan Assistant Professor; the keynote speaker was introduced by Mr. Antony das and Dr.S. Sankar.
The key note speaker Dr. Nimaladhasan enlightened the audience by variousaspects of budget and Dr. Sollayappan addressed the students about the preparationof good research paper.
The seminar was attended by 350 members including students and the staffmembers. For the International seminar we received 52 papers from variousinstitutions, in which 35 papers were presented and 17 papers were accepted as in-absentia.
Finally the vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. K. Anitha Assistant professor andthe program ended up with National Anthem.
XII. MILESTONES OF THE YEAR
PROJECTS
Various schemes of Government of India were implemented by the financial helpreceived through Hopeever Foundation, NGO run by Mrs Rosalind Kayalvizhi,Chennai.
Ministry of Water and Sanitation has provided well furnished hygienic andspacious ‘RESTROOMS’, for both Boys and Girls. This was inaugurated on18.06.2019.
Ministry of Higher Education has approved a scheme called ‘MUTUAL GRANT’through which the students are encouraged to save and ‘MUTUAL GRANT’ isgiven for the saved money. By this scheme around 350 students are gettingbenefited to continue their studies.
Ministry of Sports Authority has provided funds to set up a ‘GYM’ with allimported equipments in order to encourage the young students to utilize the freetime in a positive way. This was inaugurated by Honourable Minister of State forHome Affairs, Shri Kishan Reddy on 22.02.2020.

Ministry of Natural and Renewable Energy has sanctioned 20 Kilo Watts ‘SOLARPOWER’, in order to make this college a GREEN CAMPUS through‘ALTERNATE ENERGY’
Through the NITI AYOG, we have applied for an ‘AUDITORIUM’ in the campusto create opportunity for Talent Exposure also with a mind of ‘REVENUEGENERATION’. We are expecting the approval at any time.
Through PMKVY scheme we are equipping the college student with different jobskills. Every year around 400 students are benefitting out of this skill developmentprogramme.
Apart from this, to create opportunity for Talent Exposure, with the motto“TRANSFORMING THE RURAL SPORTS ECOSYSTEM”, we are planning fora Sports Stadium, Galleries & Grounds. This Project may help the rural students toequip themselves in their sports fields with best infrastructure and achieve theirpersonal dreams and bring laurels to the country.

On January 23rd, 2020, we had a special commission appointed by University ofMadras to check the infra-structure and faculty members for the courses such as,BCOM, BBA,B.Sc Computer Science and Computer Application. TheCommission under the Convenor, Dr.M.Sorman & Members, Dr.V.Kalaivani,Dr.G.Palani, Dr.Thangavel.N, Dr.V.S.Ramakrishnan, visited our college andhighly appreciated and recommended for continuation of Provisional Affiliation.

One more great yet unexpected visitor came to our campus on 22.02.2020. theHonorable Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri. Kishan Reddy, visited andinaugurated the Gymnasium and spoke highly about the college & village. Alongwith him we had another great personality Prof. Dr. Gopal Reddy, Member,University Grants Commission, New Delhi, while appreciate the college in hisspeech promised that he will guide us in getting the higher grade in NAAC andalso after getting 12b & 2f he will obtain grants & schemes of UGC to our college.
GRAND INAUGURATION OF FOOTBALL ACADEMY
College got a cult on July 19th, 2019, as like heavy weight Champions in their ownfields made a history by inaugurating “Football Academy”, Personalities such asDr. Xavier Britto, Chennai and Kerry Inder Logistics, India and Dr. Marie Wilson,Director, JIT, Chennai and International Football giant Mr. Raman Vijayan alongwith the management team of Christ College Jointly established ‘FootballAcademy’ and agreed to collaborate in selecting “Rural Boys’ from villages, inprovides food, accommodation, coaching to the selected students and in exposingthem to various tournaments and matches. This collaboration has started reapingfruits of success in the inception year itself. Our college football team got 1st Placein ‘National Rural Sports Federation’, 1st Place in State level 5 a side FootballTournament, 3rd Place in the University of Madras & Loyola College – FatherMurphy Memorial football Tournament, in the first entry itself. We made all bigteams by beating to turn those eyes in awe towards Christ College and gained verybig publicity too.

On August 13th 2019, our girls gained a great exposure by participating in a‘Guinness World Record’ created by Ms.Praba, Proprietor, V Care, India.

On January 31st and February 1st, 2020, Jeppiar Institute of Technology, Kunnam,SV chatram, Conducted a Mega Cultural event on the occasion of Women’s daythe Title ‘KUZALI’. Our College girl students in a big number participated andcompeted with 24 colleges in Thirteen events and proudly bagged overallchampionship and individual championship by winning a ‘Scooty Pep’.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP
On September 5th, 2019, the day of Saint Mother Theresa, to follow her footstepsof chevity, Our College students & staff around 150 of them donated blood. Thisevent organized with the help of AICUF and Lions Club of Perambakkam. Theblood was donated to the poor patients of Thiruvallur Government hospital.
