Entry detailsCrewsCrews must comprise 8-10 paddlers plus a
drummer - squadsmay be larger. Crews can be mixed, all female or
all male andorganisations may enter more than one crew. The
minimumage is 16 years and no previous experience of dragon
boatracing is required. All crew members must be able to swim
inlight clothing and in moving water and compete entirely attheir
own risk. Qualified helms, buoyancy aids and water safetycover are
provided by the organizers.DELIBERATE CAPSIZING IS VERY DANGEROUS
AND WILLRESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION
RulesGable Events is an approved operator of the British
DragonBoat Racing Association (BDA) and the Challenge will be
rununder BDA Festival Rules and hold a BDA Race Permit. All
crewsaccepted for entry must abide with the competition rules
andthe entry details shown on this form. Each crew is guaranteed
aminimum of 3 races (subject to weather conditions).
Entry Fees£495.00 per crew. £450 IF PAID BY 31ST JANUARY
2015.SPONSORSHIP COMPULSORY - SEE BELOW. Crews mayhave less than 11
people but there are no fee reductions forcrews of less than
11.
EntriesWill be accepted on a first come, first served basis with
fullpayment. No refunds will be given once an entry has
beenaccepted and there can be no refund if the event or racing
hasto be cancelled due to conditions outside the control of
theevent organizers.
Charity SponsorshipThank you for taking part to help us raise
funds for these verygood local charities. We understand you may
wish to donatemoney to your own charity, and you have the option to
do soas below.A minimum of £250.00 per boat will need to beraised
to go to our chosen charities,Any amount raised above this maybe
used by you to donate to yourchosen charity or you are free
todonate to our Rotary Charities.Official sponsor forms will be
suppliedwith your entry confirmation and allforms and money must be
handed toRace Control before your crew’s first race.
