TCS-GANDHINAGAR INDUSTRIAL VISIT CONDUCTED FORSCHOOL OF ENGINEERING FINAL YEAR STUDENTSIndustrial visit was conducted by School of Engineering for Computer Engineering, Information Technology and Electronics & Communication Engineering students at Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS) - Gandhinagar Infocity Campus on 28th January, 2014. Group of 20 Students with one faculty member visited TCS to learn and understand the Corporate Culture and Working Environment in the organization. We are very much grateful to Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS), for
permitting our students at TCS Campus and arranging Informative Interactive sessions. We are sure that this learning will be helpful to all students in future for their professional career. First session was conducted by Mr. Nirav Brahmbhatt (Head HR) who shared valuable information and explained students what corporate culture of TCS is having and how work is to be done at TCS. Second session was conducted by Ms. Khanjan Patel (Technical Team Leader) she interacted with all the
students about technical aspects and latest technology. Third session was conducted by Mr. Rajavala and Ms. Ritu Nanda regarding TCS - iON, which is one of the wings of TCS. RKU is very much thankful to Ms. Ritu Nanda, Mr.Abhijit Saha& Mr. Rajavala for all the support and cooperation extended to our students during their visit.
Prof. K. P. Bhatt, Prof. V. J. Patel and Lecturer G. N. Sarvaiya had attended 5 days workshop on “Recent Trends in Advanced Electrical Machine” at L. D. College of
thEngineering, Ahmedabad from 30 rd December, 2013 to 3 January, 2014.
To share their experience about the workshop, Department of Electrical Engg, School of Engineering organized a seminar on Recent Trends in Advanced Electrical Machine on
th29 January, 2014. The event started with the welcome speech by Dr. Jignesh Makwana. He discussed the recent advancements in electrical
machines like SRM, PMSM. The introduction and theory lecture sessions were conducted by V.J. Patel and G. N. Sarvaiya. V. J. Patel explained the construction, working principle, control strategies of PMSM with its advantage in application. G. N. Sarvaiya shared his knowledge of condition monitoring techniques of transformer like DGA, tan delta, FRA, IR etc. This seminar provided a platform for the faculties share knowledge and get advanced in the field of electrical machines. All faculties and few lab assistants from electrical dept. attended the seminar.
Providing students innovation in learning, School of Physiotherapy implements various learning strategies that would lead to quality learning for students, in this context a workshop was organized on 28th January 2014 for post graduates and final year undergraduate students.
The resource person was Dr. Shahanawaz Syed, Assis tant Professor, School of Physiotherapy RKU, who is well experienced in handling the neuro-physiotherapy conditions .The workshop began with briefing of students with components of eclectic approach (variety of neurological approaches in treating the hemiplegic patient (paralytic patient). and its need and advantages in treating the hemiplegic patients, followed by live hands on treatment of hemiplegic patients shown by the Dr.Shahanawaz Syed to the students.
The students had an interactive session with Dr. Shahanawaz Syed regarding eclectic approach in treating the hemiplegic patients and thereby had an opportunity to learn and enhance their practical knowledge in handling the hemiplegic patients. Workshop ended with distribution of the certificates to participants. Dr. Priyanshu Rathod, Director, School of physiotherapy congratulated Dr. Shahanawaz Syed for overall success of the workshop which enhanced practical knowledge and hands on skills of the students.

the Passive Static Stretching, in maintaining Euglycemia (normal blood glucose levels), further preventing complications related to Diabetes Mellitus like various musculoskeletal conditions, f lexibi l i ty and balancing problems, associated risk of falls, etc. thereby improving Quality of Life. Faculty Development Program on "Teaching Entrepreneurship" held on 25th January, 2014 at Christ Institute of Management, Rajkot. Experts in this FDP were from different fields r ang ing f rom Indus t ry, Academics , Government and also from USA. And he was invited as a guest faculty in the Faculty Development Program for Engineering and Science College Professors of Gujarat State on 28th January, 2014, organized by "Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED)" (A Government of Gujarat Organization). He delivered an interactive lecture on "Business Plan for Entrepreneurs". CED organizes Faculty Development Program (FDP) for the teaching staff of colleges across Gujarat State to enhance the capabilities as a faculty, counselor and guide for conducting Entrepreneurship training and related activities.

Debnath, Assistant Professor and Dr. Dheli Kadachha, Assistant Professor, along with postgraduate students, of School of Physiotherapy, where a large number of patients were examined and physiotherapy treatment was provided to them for their various health related disorders.
