INTROIT— Psalm 17 & 25 The People standing

Lord, hear a cause that is just, pay heed to my cry. Turn your ear to my prayer: no deceit is on my lips. To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul, I trust you, let me not be disappointed; Do not let my enemies triumph. Make me walk in your truth and teach me; For you are God my savior. Turn to me and have mercy. Preserve my life and rescue me. Do not disappoint me, you are my refuge. And so, my heart rejoices, my soul is glad; Even my flesh shall rest in hope. For you will not abandon my soul to hell, Nor let your holy one see corruption.

THE LITURGY OF THE WORD FIRST LESSON: Isaiah 55: 10-11

Thus says the LORD: Just as from the heavens the rain and snow come down and do not return there till they have watered the earth, making it fertile and fruitful, giving seed to the one who sows and bread to the one who eats, so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; my word shall not return to me void, but shall do my will, achieving the end for which I sent it. Lector: The Word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.

A period of silence follows the reading.

PSALM 66

You are visited the land and watered it; Greatly have you enriched it. God’s watercourses are filled; You have prepared the grain. Thus have you prepared the land: drenching its furrows, Breaking up its clods, Softening it with showers, Blessing its yield. You have crowned the year with your bounty, And your paths overflow with a rich harvest; The untilled meadows overflow with it, And rejoicing clothes the hills. The fields are garmented with flocks And the valleys blanketed with grain. They shout and sing for joy.

EPISTLE: ROMANS 8: 18-23

Brothers and sisters: I consider that the sufferings of this present time are as nothing compared with the glory to be revealed for us. For creation awaits with eager expectation the revelation of the children of God; for creation was made subject to futility, not of its own accord but because of the one who subjected it, in hope that creation itself would be set free from slavery to corruption and share in the glorious freedom of the children of God. We know that all creation is groaning in labor pains even until now; and not only that, but we ourselves, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, we also groan within ourselves as we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies.

Lector: The Word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION —— Stand.

GOSPEL LESSON: Matthew 10: 37-42

On that day, Jesus went out of the house and sat down by the sea. Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat down, and the whole crowd stood along the shore. And he spoke to them at length in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep, and when the sun rose it was scorched, and it withered for lack of roots. Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it. But some seed fell on rich soil and produced fruit, a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold. Whoever has ears ought to hear.”

Gospeler: The Gospel of the Lord. All: Praise to You, Lord Jesus Christ.

PRESENTATION OF THE PASTOR-ELECT (Archbishop Hebda) WELCOME BY THE PEOPLE (Respond with appluase) HOMILY PRESENTATIONS Presentation of the Parish Clergy and Staff Presentation of the Parish Commissions Presentation of the Parish Trustees PROFESSION OF FAITH AND OATH Remember, my Brother Father Paul., always be a loving father, a gentle shepherd, and a wise teacher of your people, so that you may lead them to Christ who will strengthen all that you do. As a teacher of that faith, I ask you now to lead your people in the profession of their faith.

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,

all bow during these two lines:

and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven And is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Father Paul:

With firm faith I also believe everything contained in God’s Word, written or handed down in tradition and proposed by the Church, whether in solemn judgment or in ordinary and universal magisterium, as divinely revealed and calling for faith. I also firmly accept and hold each and every thing that is proposed by the Church definitively regarding teaching on faith and morals. Moreover, I adhere with religious submission of will and intellect to the teachings which either the Roman Pontiff or the college of bishops enunciate when they exercise the authentic magisterium even if they proclaim those teachings in an act that is not definitive.

BLESSING OF THE ICON OF MARY, MOTHER OF GOD Archbishop Hebda: Let us pray,

Almighty God, we thank you that you have put it into the hearts of your people to make offerings for your service, and have been pleased to accept their gifts. Be with us now and bless us as we set apart this Icon of Mary, Mother of God, to your praise and glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

All: Christ is the icon of the invisible God; all things were created through him and for him.

Icon is now unveiled and anointed with Chrism sprinkled with holy water and incensed.

Then candles are presented from Barb and Alan Gregerson to Father Paul.

Archbishop: The Word became flesh: All: And dwelt among us. Archbishop: Let us pray. Almighty God, whose Son our Savior manifested your glory in his flesh, and sanctified the outward and visible to be a means to perceive realities unseen: Accept, we pray, this representation of Our Lady; and grant that as we look upon it, our hearts may be drawn to things which can be seen only by the eye of faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. All: Christ is the icon of the invisible God; all things were created through him and for him. Consecration of the Parish to Our Lady, by Father Paul.
