    INDIAN ARMY10+2 TECHNICAL ENTRY SCHEME COURSE - 25 COMMENCING FROM JULY 20111. Applications are invited from unmarried, Male Candidates who have passed 10+2 sexamination with Physics,

    Chemistry and Mathematics (Hereinafter referred to as PCM) subjects and fulfill the eligibility conditionsprescribed in the subsequent paragraphs, for the grant of permanent commission In the Army after 4 years of Basic Military Training and Technical Training thereafter with the terms- and. conditions given in the succeedingparagraphs2. ELIGIBILITY:(a) Nationality: A candidate must either be : (i) A citizen of India, or (ii) A .subject of Bhutan, or (iii) A subject of Nepal, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st of January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling India or (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka andEast African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethopiaand Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories(il), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility is necessary may beadmitted to the examination provisionally subject to the necessary certificate being given to him by the Govtbefore declaration of result by SSB/joining training.(b) Age Limit, Sex and-Marital Status: Only unmarried male candidates are eligible for the entry. A candidatemust not be below 16 1/2 years and above .19 1/2 years on the first day of the month in which the course iscommencing i.e. the candidate should not be born before 01 Jan 1992 and not after 01 Jan 1995 (both daysinclusive). The date of birth accepted by the office is that entered in the Marticulation or Secondary SchoolLeaving certificate or in the certificate recognised by an Indian University as equivalent to Matriculation or in anextract from a Register of Matriculates maintained by a University which extract must be certified by the proper authority of sthe University or in the Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination certificate. No other document /relating to. age like horoscopes, affidavits, birth extract from municipal corporation, service .recordsand the like will be accepted. The expression Matriculation/Higher Secondary Examination Certificate in this part

    of the instruction includes the alternative certificate mentioned above.NOTE 1: Candidate should note only the date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/ Higher SecondaryExamination Certificate or an equivalent certificate on the date of submission of applications will be acceptedand no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted.NOTE 2: Candidates should also note that once a date of birth has been claimed by them and entered in therecords,jio change will be allowed subsequently or a subsequent examination on any ground whatsoever.NOTE 3: The candidates should exercise due care while entering their date of birth in the application form. If onverification at any subsequent stage any variation is found In their date of birth form one entered in their matriculation or equivalent examination, certificate, disciplinary action will be taken against them under rules.NOTE 4: Candidates,must undertake not to marry until they complete their full training. A candidate who marriessubsequent to the date of his application, though successful, will not be selected for training. A candidate whomarries during training shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by thegovernment. .(C) Educational Qualification: Only those candidates who have passed 1(10s+2 Examination or/its equiva-

    lent with a minimum aggregate of 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible to apply for thisentry.3. VACANCIES: The number of vacancies for this course is 85. Vacancies are provisional and can be changed

    depending on the training capacity at the training Academy for this course. The vacancies are subject toIncrease/decrease keeping the organanisional requirement at the point of time.4. TYPE OF COMMISSION: On success completion of 4 Years of the course cadets will be granted. PermanentCommission in the Army in the rank of Lt. in Arms/Services as per discretion of Army HQ.TRAINING5. Total training will be 5 years, Details as under:(a) Basic Military Training : 1 year (Training Academy), (b) Technical Training: I (i) Phase-1 (Pre CommissionTraining): 3 Years (CME) Pune, MCTE Mshow and MCEME Secunderabad), (ii) Phase-11 (Post CommissionTraining); 1 year at CME Pune, MCT E Mhow and MCEME Secunderabad. (c) Award of Degree: The candidateswill be awarded Engineering .degree after successful completion of training as given out in para 5 (a) and (b)above. No.ante date seniority will be admissible to candidates on account of this Engineering degree. Theofficers who fail to qualify in Engineering will re-appear In the examination in the following year. In case theyfail to qualify in the following year examination.also,.the same will.result in loss.of seniority to them and theywill . Forfiet seniority to the extent of de|ay in passing Engineering degree examination. If they fail to qualifyeven within three years of their commissioning, their commission will Ibe terminated.. .COST OF TRAINING6. The entire cost of training including books and reading material Is borne by-the Army. Cadets are also providedwith free clothing and messing. In case the GC is withdrawn from training academy due to reasons other thanMedical ground or the reasons not beyond his control he will be liable to refund cost of training @Rs. 7075/ -per week for the period of his stay at the training academy.HOW TO APPLY7.     Application received after 30 Oct. 2010 will be rejected outright . All documents will be properly tagged. Looseendorsement will not be entertained. Apply on the prescribed format on A4 size white sheet either computer printed /typed/ handwriten. Chemistry and Mathematics will be written on top of the envelopecontaining application.SELECTION PROCEDURE8. The. selection procedure is as follows;(a) Short listed candidates will be call ed for Services Selection Board (SSB) interview at Bhopal, Bangalore or

    Allahabad. Interviews will be held in Feb-March 2011 onwards. (b) Duration of SSB interviews is five daysexcluding day of arrival. During their stay at SSB Candidates are put through psychological Test, Group test andInterviews. (c) Candidates will be put- through stage -I of the selection procedure on the first day. Onlysuccessful candidates shall be retained for balance of the testing. Candidates who fail to qualify in stage -I, willbe returned on the first day itself, Stage I are psychologically originated test including intelligence test, (d)Successful candidates at the SSB will be required to undergo medical test lasting 3 to 5 days less Sundays andgazetted holidays, (e) Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available, (f) One AC-lll Tier/AC Chair Car fare is admissible for the interview (to and fro) for the first time only.STIPEND/PAY AND ALLOWANCES9.     10. On commission, officers are entitled to 60 days annual leave and 20 days casual leave LTC, free medicalservice for self and family, canteen facilities and other concessions,11. On being commissioned, ail officers will be guided by the terms and conditions as given out by the ArmyGroup Insurance Scheme and as amended from time to time.(a) Army Group Insurance Fund Provides Insurance cover of Rs. 15 Lac on payment of one time non-refundablepremium of Rs. 8200/r by cadets from the date of joining for pre-cornmission training i.e. for 3 years. If a cadetsis relegated an additional premium of Rs. 1,444/- per relegated term will be paid; Those Who are medicallyboarded out on account of disability, the disability cover provided for 100% disability will be Rs. 7.5 Lac reducedup to Rs. 1.5 Lac for 20 per cent disability. However, disability for less than 20 percent, an ex-gratia of Rs.20.000/- will be paid. There is no saving component under this scheme. Disability due to alcoholism and drugaddiction will not qualify or disability benefit and ex-gratia:(b) The Gentlemen Cadets when in receipt of stipend of Rs/21,OOO/- per month are insured tor Rs. 30 Lac.-Those who are medically boarded out of Academy on account of disabili ty, the disability cover provided for 100% disability will be Rs. 15 Lac which is proportionately reduced up to Rs. 3 Lac for 20% disability. However, for less than 20% disability an ex-gratia of Rs. 20.000/- will be paid. Disability due to alcoholism and-drug addiction,will nc-t qualify for disability benefit and ex-gratia. Premium at the rate of Rs. 2190/- will have to be paid, inadvance on monthly basis by the Gentlemen Cadets to become member under the .main AGI Scheme asapplicable to Regular Army Officers.The premium for the relegated period would also be recovered at the samerate.IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS12. Please note that: (a) Application must be sent in the format given below, (b) Application must be accompaniedby attested (By a Gazetted Officer of the Central/ State Govt/lst Class-Magistrate etc.) Photocopies of 10thclass certificate for proof of date of birth and 10+2 certificate and mark sheet for proof of education. Revisedmarksheets issued by a Board/Unrversity after last date of receipt of application will not be accepted for thiscourse, however the same will be accepted for the subsequent course. (c) Army Headquarters reserves the rightto shortlist applications and to fix cut off percentage of PCM marks without assigning any reason. No commu-nication will be entertained on this account: (d) Short listed candidates will be detailed to undergo SSB interviewfrom Feb. 2011 onwards. No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of testconducted at SSB. All applications received late or i ncomplete will be rejected outright. No intimation will be givento the candidate in writing or verbally to submit fresh application/certificate/or any other required documents, (e)Candidates are advised not to correspond with Army Headquatars regarding shortlisting or SSB interview.However, such correspondence may the addressed to the Adm.     GUIDELINES FOR PHYSICAL STANDARDS FOR ADMISSION TO THE 10+2 (TES) ENTR YNote: Candidates must be physically fit according to the prescribed physical standards.The guidelines for the

    same are given below. A number of qualified candidates are rejected subsequently on medical grounds.Candidates are, therefore, advised in their own interest to get themselves medically examined before submittingtheir applications to avoid disappointment at the final stage. Candidates are also advised to rectify minor defects/ailments in order to speed up finalisation of medical examination conducted at the Military Hospital after being recommended at the SSB. The undermentioned ailments are considered, common minor ailments:- (a) Wax(Ears), (b) DNS, (c) Hydrocele/Phimosis, (d) Overweight/ Underweight, (e) Pipess, (f) Gynecomastia, (g)Tonsilitis, (h) Varicocele. Civilian candidates appearing for all types of commission in the Armed Forces will be

    contracted during the course of their examination by the Selection Board. They will also be entitled to in-patienttreatment at public expense in the Officers ward of a I hospital provided, (a) the injury is sustained during thetest or; (b) the disease is contracted , during the course of the examination by selection board and there is no

    suitable hospital; or (C) the medical board requires the candidates admission for observation.NOTE: They are not entitled to special nursing. A candidate recommended by the Services Selection Board Will undergo a medical examination by a Board

    of Service Medical officers. Only those candidates will be admitted to the academy who are declared fit by theMedical board: The proceeding of i the Medical Board are confidential and will hot be divulged to anyone.However, the candidates declared unfit will be intimated by the President of the Medical Boards and theprocedure for request for an Appeal Medical Board will also be intimated to thei candidate. Candidates declaredunfit during Appeal Medical Board will also be intimated to the candidate. Candidates declared unfit during AppealMod. Board will be intimated about the provision of Review Mod. Board, (a) The candidates must be in goodphysical . and mental hearth and free from any disease/disability which, is likely to interfere with I the efficientperformance of duties, (b) There should be no evidence of weak constitution, bodily defects or under weight, (c)The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. For Gorkhas and individuals belonging to hi lls of North Easternregions of India, Garhwal and Kumaon, the minimum acceptable height will be Scms. 5cms less. In case of candidates from Lakhadweep the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cms. Height and weightstandards are given below:

    A 10% departure from the, average weight given in the Table 1 above is to considered withinnormal limits. However, in Individuals with heavy bones and broad built and as well as individualswith thin built otherwise healthy, this may be relaxed to some extent on merit.NOTE: Height relaxation upto 2.5 cm. may be allowed where the Medical Board certifies that thecandidate is likely to grow and come up to the required standard on completion of his training.

    On account of lower age of candidate, a margin of upto 5.00 cm. in height, 2.5 cm. in leglength (minimum) and 1.0 cm sitting height (minimum) may be given provided it is certified by theMedical Board that the candidate is likely to grow and come upto the required.standard on comple-tion of his training, (d) Chest should be well developed. The minimum range of expansion after fullinspiration should be 5 cms. The measurement will be taken with a tape so adjusted that its lower edge should touch the nipple in front and the upper, part of the tape should touch the lower angleof the shoulder blades behind. X-ray of the chet Is compulsory and will be taken to rule out anydisease of the chet, (e) There should be no disease of bones and joints of the body. X-ray of Spineof candidates will not be carried out as a routine. It will, however, be done on the advice of SurgicalSpecialist wherever, clinically indicated Minor congenital defects which are not likely to interfere inthe performance of military duties may be acceptable; on merit though congenital defects areconsidered as a cause for rejection. Spinal conditions: (f) Thorough Clinical examination of thespine including its shape, local tenderness if any, spinal movements etc. Is to be carried out. (g) Mildkyhosis or Lordosis where deformity is barely noticeable and there is no pain or Resriction of movement will not preclude acceptance, (h) In case of noticeable Scoliosis or suspicion of any other abnormality of spinal deformity, more than mild appropriate X-ray of the spine are to be taken andthe Examinee referred for specialists advice (j) A candidate should have no past history of mentalbreakdown or fits (k) The hearing should be normal. A candidate should be able to hear a forcedwhisper with each ear at a distance of 610 cms in a quiet room: (I) There should be no signs of functional or organic disease of the heart and Blood vessels, Blood pressure should be normal, (m)The muscles of abdomen should be well developed and there should be no enlargement of liver or spleen. Any evidence of disease of internal organs of the abdomen will be a cause for rejection, (n)Un-operated hernia will make a candidate unfit If operated this should have been done at least ayear prior to me present examination and the healing is complete, (o) There should be no hydocele,varicocele or pile, (p) Urine examination will be done and any abnormality if detected will be acauSe for rejection, (q) Any disease of alsobea which is likely to cause disabilities or disfigurementwill atk cause of rejection, (r) A candidates should be able to read 6/6 kn a distant vision chart weacheye, with or without glasses. Myopia should not be more than 2.5/ D.and hypemetropia not morethan 3.5 D including Astigmatism. Internal examination of the eye will-be done by means of opthalmoecope to rule out any disease Of the eye. A Candidate must have good binocular vision,the colour vision standard will be CP III for Army. A candidate should be able to recognise red andgreen colours. Candidates will be required to give certificates that neither .he nor any member of hisfamily has suffered from congenital night beindess. Candidates who have undergone or have theevidence of having undergone Radial Keratotomy, to improve the visual acuity, will be permanentlyrejected, (s) The candidates should have sufficient number of natural and sound teeth. A minimumof 14 dental points will be acceptable. When 32 teeth are present, the total dental points are 22. Acandidate should not be Suffering from severe pyorrhoea. (t) Physical conditioning .Prospectivecandidates are advised to keep them selves in good physical condition by following the theUndermentioned regimen daily :- (i) Jogging 3 to 5 Kms interspersed with short sprints (ii) Skipping(iii) Pushups and sit ups (minimum 20 each). (Iv) Chin ups (Minimum 08) .(v) It would be of immensebenefit the candidates could learn the basic of swimming. However, non swimmers will be taughtswimming at the training academy.13. REASONS FOR REJECTION OF APPUCATON:-(a) Incomplete and loosely tagged applications in any respect and/or without copies of requisitecertificate (s) Documents submitted at a later stage wilt hot tie entertained.(b) Variation in names and spellings as recorded in application/ Metric or equivalent certificate notsupported by affidavitte, (c) Copy of 10th claes certificate for age proof and 12th .dass marksheet for PCM% attested, by a Qovt.
