Fats “ADA supports the focus on type of fat instead of the focus on

the overall amount with an emphasis on reducing saturated fatty acids and trans-fatty acids and increasing in n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids.3 However, further research is needed on how to communicate this information and committee recommendations on solid fat to consumers.
