find the main idea and the supporting ideas

exclude irrelevant ideas

map out the hierarchical relationship among the ideas

connect the ideas with lines and marking

Procedure

1610 week : do reading test 3 and post reading strategy application

questionnaire

8and 9week : complete third concept map practice with three more articles

7week : do reading test 2

19

That is no significant between the score of Test 1 and Test2. But the experimental group outperformed the control group in Test 3.

Page 20: 10322611 Jane

20

For poor readers, that is significant on Test 2 and Test 3.For good readers, that is significant on Test 2, but not on Test 3.

Page 21: 10322611 Jane

21

Did the computer-assisted concept mapping learning strategy affect learners’ use of other English reading strategies?

Page 22: 10322611 Jane

22

On the pre-test, that is no significant between two groups. But on the post-test, that is significant between two groups.

Page 23: 10322611 Jane

23

The scores of listing, elaborating and reviewing increased significantly in the experimental group.

Page 24: 10322611 Jane

24

Conclusion

The computer-assisted concept mapping reading

strategy has positive effects on learners’ reading

ability.

Concept mapping can enhance the use of

English reading strategies.
