This document describes the energizing and operation of the GCP Multiplex transformerrectifier with 48 outputs 15V/300mA. It includes:
Description of the Multiplex transformer rectifier Energizing of the Multiplex transformer rectifier Operation of the Multiplex transformer rectifier Direct laptop connection to the Multiplex transformer rectifier Direct network connection to the Multiplex transformer rectifier Maintenance of the Multiplex transformer rectifier

1 Description of the Multiplex transformer rectifier
Please refer to attached circuit diagrams, starting from sheet 11, together with this chapter inorder to follow up the description.
The MTR consist of 4 major parts: Terminals for cable connections AC/DC Converter Ethernet controller with input / output modules Touchscreen as user-interface
1.1 Terminals for cable connection
(Please refer Circuit diagram sheet 2 of 30):
Terminal block X1 = A.C. Power Supply cable connection terminalsTerminal block X7 = Anode / cathode cable connection terminalsTerminal block X8 = Reference electrode / Measuring cathode cable connection terminal
1.2 AC/DC Converter
(Please refer Circuit diagram sheet 1 of 30 as well as 4-15 of 30):
Circuit diagram ID = -A1 to -48A
The AC/DC Converter converts A.C. power to D.C. power, the output is adjustablecontinuously from 0% to 100%. The output power of the AC/DC Converters are control by theEthernet controller.
1.3 Ethernet controller with input / output modules
(Please refer Circuit diagram sheet 1 of 30 as well as 2 of 30):
Circuit diagram ID = 750-881
The Ethernet controller adjust the output for each 48x AC/DC Converter according to thedefine settings as well as the measured values of each zone.
1.4 Touchscreen
(Please refer Circuit diagram sheet 1 of 30):
Circuit diagram ID = 12,1
The Touchscreen is the user-interface to the Ethernet controller. The Touchscreen shows thesoftware (refer to chapter 3) and allow to the adjustments as well as monitoring for each 48zones.

2 Energizing of the Multiplex transformer rectifier
To energize the MTR please follow up following procedure:
Before starting the energizing ensure that:1- Ensure that circuit breaker 1 8 are OFF (Terminal block X1)2- Ensure that circuit breaker F1 F48 are OFF (Terminal block X2 and X4)
After ensuring the above two points proceed as follows:3- Put circuit breaker 1 8 to ON position4- Wait that the touchscreen shows the Overview screen (refer chapter 3.1)5- Visit Detail View of zone 1 (refer chapter 3.1)
6- In Detail View adjust as Control mode Current (refer chapter 3.2)7- In Detail View set as Set Current = 20mA (refer chapter 3.2)8- Exit and save Detail View , jumping back to the Overview screen (refer chapter 3.2)9- Repeat point 5 8 for each of the remaining 47 zones
After adjusting of the settings for each 48 zones (point 5 8) proceed as follows:10- Put circuit breakers F1 F48 to ON position11- The MTR will adjust now all 48 zones driving 20mA in Control mode Current12- Check on the Overview screen that all 48 zones are driving 20mA in Current mode
After verification of point 12 please proceed as follows:13- Adjust for each zone the designed output and control mode

3 Operation of the Multiplex transformer rectifier
The MTR is equipped with an user-friendly software which acts as an interface between theoperator and the MTR output controllers. The software consists of three screens, namely:
3.1 Overview screen
The overview screen informs about the actual status of each of the 48 zones. Each zone isdisplayed with following information:
U = Actual output voltage in VI = Actual output current in mAM = Actual control mode (Voltage / Current)
The overview screen allows the jump to detail view of each zone (a.m. shown on Zone 1)and the jump to the system service area.

3.2 Detail View
The detail view informs in the upper part (black background) about the actual status andallowsby pressing in the yellow background areas the setting for:
- Set Voltage = the requested output voltage in control mode Voltage- Set Current = the requested output current in control mode Current- Set Control mode = Voltage or Current
By pressing in the yellow background areas Set Voltage and Set Current, a keypad will bedisplayed which allows entering of the requested values.
By pressing in the yellow background area Set Control Mode, the control mode switchesbetween Voltage and Current. Each press changes the control mode (Voltage / Current).
To leave the detail view, press Exit and save, and the software jumps back to the Overviewscreen.

3.3 System service area
The System service area informs about the IP numbers and allows the activation /deactivation of the current interrupter. The current interrupters of all 48 zones aresynchronized. To leave the System service area, press Exit, and the software jumps back tothe Overview screen.

4 Direct laptop connection to the Multiplex transformer rectifier
The MTR can be operating also by using a Laptop without using the build-in Touchscreen.This is helpful in case that the Touchscreen has a malfunction or is defective. In the followingthe steps to connect a Laptop to the MTR:
1. Connect the Laptop to the Controller of the MTR (to one of the Ethernet sockets)2. Give your Laptop the static IP address 192.168.178.199 (you can select also other IP
address within the range 192.168.178.001 to 192.168.178.255 (except 192.168.178.220).3. Open your Webbrowser (e.g. Internet Explorer)4. Enter as page http://192.168.178.199/plc/webvisu.htm, in case you have give your laptop
other IP address then 192.168.178.199 you have to enter the given IP address in the
page. E.g. you have given your laptop the IP address 192.168.178.230 then the pageaddress will be http://192.168.178.230/plc/webvisu.htm.
5 Direct Network connection to the Multiplex transformer rectifier
The MTR can be connected directly to the local company network by connect the MTR byusing of a Ethernet cable to one of the Controller Ethernet sockets. The IP address of theMTR is 192.168.178.220.
The IP address 192.168.178.220 can be, on request, changed.
6 Maintenance of the Multiplex transformer rectifier
In general the MTR is maintenance-free. Nevertheless we recommend a dust-cleaning of thecabinet outside / inside every three months in order to avoid efficiency loose caused by dustcovered components.
Defective / malfunction components shall be replace immediately.
A yearly checking of all functions of the MTR shall be considered.
