2 new WHITE PAPERS help in the field
Although employers are keenly focused on medical insurance and the Affordable Care Act right now, they shouldn’t lose sight of the bigger picture of employee benefits. That’s the mes-sage of Colonial Life’s newest white paper, which advises employers to consider their entire benefits package if they want to remain competi-tive. Colonial Life’s new white paper, called “Beyond Health Insurance: Creating a competi-tive benefits program in the health care reform world,” recommends a comprehensive approach to employee benefits. First White Paper: “Beyond Health Insurance”
SOUTHERN NEVADA\HAWAI’I\SAN DIEGO TERRITORY NEWSLETTER
The document outlines what employers should know about health care reform, em-ployee benefits and the subsequent need for increased benefits education. “Although medical insurance is the cornerstone of a good employee benefits package, we en-courage employers to think about their benefits as a whole right now,” said Steve By-gott, assistant vice president of core market services at Colonial Life. “Small and large employers face ongoing cost concerns, in addition to new legal requirements, that challenge their ability to remain competitive. Taking their eye off the big picture of employee benefits could be a costly mistake.” In an ongoing effort to help employers sort through all the changes surrounding health care reform, Colonial Life also offers a special microsite with lots of user-friendly information. In addition, sales representa-tives offer an employer guide and a flier on the no-cost benefits communications solu-tions the company offers. The latest white paper is one of an ongoing series of re-search briefs produced by Colonial Life to help position the company as a thought leader in voluntary benefits and benefits communication,
