• 15 m/f volunteers

• Control: 5.0% Petroletum-Based DansylChloride Solution

• Test materials: 1.0% Synthetic Salicylic Acid (3.9 pH w/w) + 2.0% ABS White Willow Bark Extract Powder (equivalent to 1.0% Synthetic SA)

Protocol

• The zone of inhibition for 2.00% ABS White Willow Bark Extract Powder was determined in relation to the zones of inhibition for 1.00% Salicylic acid and Butylene glycol against both S. aureus and P. acnes.

• 2.00% ABS White Willow Bark Extract Powder is more effective than 1.00% Salicylic Acid in inhibiting the growth of both S. aureus and P. acnes.

Protocol

• Human dermal fibroblasts were seeded into 12-well tissue culture plates

• Test materials were added to complete DMEM containing 1µg/mL LPS and incubated with fibroblasts for 24 hours

• Concentrations: 1%, 0.1%, 0.01%

• ABS White Willow Bark Extract Powder exhibited anti-inflammatory effects on LPS-treated fibroblasts

• The changes in IL-6 production using ABS White Willow Bark Extract Powder appear to be dose dependent
