from your Pastor We live in a generation where people desire so much to get their demands. Selfishness puts our minds into thinking that we deserve to get every- thing we demand, not considering how it may badly affect others. As children of God, we should change that kind of attitude. Let us realize that honestly, if we will see our status before God, we deserve nothing but eternal punishment in Hell. Thanks be to God that by His grace, we have the privilege to serve Him! On the contrary, we must fully understand that everything and all that we gain are all blessings from God, and it is God Who deserves to receive what He demands from us. God requires our full obedience to His will, which is the best that we can render for all the benefits He is giving to us. He saved us, and is constantly preserving us while correcting our mistakes, providing for our needs, strengthening our faith, binding our families and blessing our lives. Indeed, He deserves much more of our faithfulness and love. May we find such as a greater reason to obey His will! Have a Spirit-filled Sunday! DR. ED M. LAURENA VOLUME 23 ISSUE 42 Oct 20

Walter Knight told of a Scottish woman who went from home to home across the countryside sell-ing thread, buttons, and shoestrings. When she

came to an unmarked crossroad, she would toss a stick into the air and go in the direction the stick pointed when it landed. One day, however, she was seen tossing the stick up several times. “Why do you toss the stick more than once?” someone asked. “Because,” replied the woman, “it keeps pointing to the left, and I want to take the road on the right.” She then dutifully kept throwing the stick into the air until it pointed the way she wanted to go. Many people know the will of God but refuse to do it because it is not their will.

• When God bolts the door, don't try to get in through the window. The will of God never will lead you where the grace of God cannot keep you.- unkown source

• When your will is God's will, you will have your will. - C.H. Spurgeon

• There is but one question, and that is the will of God. That set-tles all other questions. -William E. Gladstone

S ir Leonard Wood once visited the King of France and the King was so pleased with him he was invited for dinner the next day.

Sir Leaonard went to the palace and the King meeting him in one of the halls, said, "Why, Sir Leonard. I did not expect to see you. How is it that you are here?" "Did not your majesty invite me to dine with you?" said the astonished guest. "Yes," replied the King, "but you did not answer my invitation." Then it was that Sir Leonard Wood uttered one of the choicest sentences of his life. He replied,

The rigours of our daily lives are de-manding. They consume us as they con-sume our time, our talents, our treasures and our entire person. The different roles and re-sponsibilities that we take on draw us to sat-isfy their demands. As Christians, there is a more compelling demand for us to prioritize. It is God’s requirement which we need to ful-fil. Let us then accept such through Eccle-siastes 12:13, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.” In the light of the aforementioned verse, we must repent from being so preoc-cupied with so much less than what God has meant for us to do and to have. Indeed, we must move beyond what is fleeting and earthly, and pursue toward what is spiritual and eternal. Our powerful Creator demands rev-erential worship, and rightly so. Revelation 4:11 prompts us to say, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” God de-mands reverence because He and He alone is worthy of it. He is the Only Being that truly deserves worship. He commands that we acknowl-edge His greatness, His power and His glory. God created us, and He is a God whose au-thority cannot be usurped. “Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and shewing mercy unto thou-sands of them that love me, and keep my

commandments.” Exodus 20:3-6. God's jeal-ousy is not the same as the sinful envy that we experience as human beings brought about by pride. It is a holy jealousy that can-not allow the glory due only to Him to be giv-en to another. Our worship is an evidence of our awe, reverence and thankfulness to Him as our Creator God and Saviour. God wants us to move beyond what is mechanical and shallow. Our everlasting God demands our love. The prophet Isaiah iterated the Lord's command in the Book of Isaiah 6:4-5, “Hear , O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: and thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.” The same passage is repeat-ed in Matthew 22:37. It is only appropriate that we love God because He first loved us. He loved us with an everlasting love despite our wretchedness and depravity. Love is an action word, so God's love was poured and

proven on the Cross of Cal-vary. His consuming love must so constrain us to love Him back. However, He demands not only for us to love Him; He wants us to act justly toward each other, to show love and compassion to others. Godly love should infuse all our re-lationships and thus expand

God's kingdom. God wants us to move be-yond what is superficial and skin-deep. Our marvellous God demands our obedience. This is the crux by which all en-deavours and testimony of a Christian tri-umphs or fails. This is the test which shows if a Christian loves or despises the precepts of God. This is the measure that proves a Chris-tian who worships or brings shame to God's mighty name. God wants us, His people, in a whole-hearted devotion to His holy Word, His perfect will and His victorious work. May we be found faithful in complying to God’s demands and fruitful in fulfilling them.

2. Makipag-usap ka sa Diyos sa panalangin araw-araw. 3.
