In this slideshow, the Creative Safety Supply team out of Portland, Oregon shows you some of the top level concerns you should manage when installing safety signage or 5s signage in your facility. Safety signage is important for keeping workers, employees and facility visitors safe.

Danger areas or lanes of traffic from forklift operators can be easily identified and marked with either wall signage or floor signage, making it clear where foot traffic should either steer clear of, or, at the very least be highly aware of present or possible danger.

At Creative Safety Supply you can also order customized safety signage at any size and in full color, including 4-color. The signage is geared toward high traffic, high impact, and can, with it's low lip profile, withstand even the most punishing treatment.

In fact we have created videos showing how forklifts drag several hundreds of pounds across the floor, not even fazing the material in the least.

Order your signage now, from Creative Safety Supply via phone at 866-777-1360 or form the web site at creativesafetysupply.com.

3. Determine what message to convey.

Match the message on your signage to the danger posed by the hazard.

It is ideal to convey a short, clear message.

4. Consider the signage placement.

Post signs where they can be easily seen. Location is very important.

• The sign needs to warn BEFORE the danger area is reached

• Do not post signs near visually cluttered areas

5. Determine sign type, color, size & shape.

Ask yourself- What type of sign best suits the area and message?

For example:

Not all sign companies are the same.

You may want to consider:

8. Clearly communicate your needs.

Once you find a company to work with, communicate your needs and expectations clearly, and document it!

Representatives from companies that are familiar with safety signage will likely understand the needs of your facility and will be able to make helpful recommendations to ensure all safety needs are being properly met.
