  2. 2. #1 Twitter Content Creator If you're a master of telling a story in short order, and delivering the hashtags to boot, then the job of Twitter Content Creator is for you. You'll need to be up on the trending hashtags, and be able to tell a story in an entertaining way to build your brand. You'll also need to make sure that your story-telling aligns with the corporate communication and branding efforts.
  3. 3. #2 Social Media Manager The role of a social media manager is to manage company social media accounts and keep them updated with interesting content that engages the audience. As a manager, you may also be required to manage other people, so some leadership skills will be beneficial for this position.
  4. 4. #3 Social Media Coordinator Generally junior to a social media manager, the social media coordinator is responsible for updating and maintaining all company social media accounts. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining two-way dialogues with customers, so it's not just posting you have to actively monitor each account and make sure any questions or comments get answered quickly.
  5. 5. #4 Content Specialist All those memes, grumpy cat photos and witty banner ads didn't just create themselves. Someone had to (1) come up with the ideas, and (2) be able to pull all the elements together to create the final content to be posted. Generally requires skills with a wide variety of software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel, Word, TextEdit (or Notepad) and Google Docs.
  6. 6. #5 Digital Marketing Manager This position requires a knowledge of handling the social media marketplace from the advertising perspective. You'll have to know how the different ad platforms handle paid advertising, how to set budgets, and how to plan to meet company KPIs. Knowledge of analytics tools such as Google Analytics is a must.
  7. 7. #6 Marketing Associate While a marketing associate may have social media as part of their responsibility areas, they are generally responsible for much more. They may also be responsible for developing and managing advertising campaigns, recruiting, networking, building alliances, and even some sales.
  8. 8. #7 Social Producer A social producer goes beyond #4, Content Specialist, in that its' area of responsibility goes across social media and beyond to actually producing more in-depth content. This may involve creation of white papers, news, video, interactive content, and photography. Storyboarding and Directing skills may be especially handy with the video content requirement.
  9. 9. #8 Blogger If you're handy with writing and know general principles of analytics and SEO, you may be a great candidate for a blogging position. You will need to be an extremely good writer, capable of editing and proofreading your work so that it is not only correct, but engages the reader. People love stories, so being able to tell your businesses story in a compelling way will help you go far here.
  10. 10. #9 Jr. Social Media Writer You will be assisting a larger team in daily content production including blogging, reputation management responses, and organic content that follows a preset growth strategy. You have to be quick on your feet and able to switch gears constantly, moving from one task to another. You also have to be very organized and efficient to meet company goals and deadlines.
  11. 11. #10 Digital Strategist A digital strategist is responsible creation of marketing campaigns, management of all digital properties (i.e., all social channels), traffic coordination and driving key goals and initiatives. The strategist will be responsible for developing the strategy, creating the content, planning and scheduling, growing social media presence, creating content, producing digital ads, email building and posting, SEO/SEM analytics, distributing online, and managing website building/creation.
