FREED DEvELOPMENTS AND MUSKOKA BAY CLUB TAKE GREAT PRIDE IN GIvING BACK TO THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITIES.This year’s recipients of our charitable donations will be the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation and The Princess Margaret Hospital. After carefully liaising with directors at both hospitals – seeking to provide support where it is most needed, the following charities are where your generous donations will benefit the most.

THE PRINCESS MARGARET FuND A.K.A “THE FREED FAMILY FELLOWSHIP” A top priority at the Princess Margaret Hospital is their new drug development training program. Your generosity will allow them to expand their current training program to recruit promising physicians, basic researchers, pharmacists and pharmaceutical company researchers, who will undertake clinical, translational or basic research related to drug development. Those chosen to participate in the program will devote the majority of their time to research projects (in either a basic or clinical research laboratory), under the supervision of a member of the drug development program. Supporting these positions will allow the program to continue to conduct groundbreaking research, fast track the development of new drugs and foster close partnerships and working relationships with the pharmaceutical industry.

About The Princess Margaret The Princess Margaret is one of the top five cancer research centres in the world. New discoveries and innovative cancer therapies that are changing cancer care for patients globally are happening right here in Canada, at The Princess Margaret.

THE SOuTH MuSKOKA HOSPITAL FuND

It’s a challenge for a hospital to keep pace with the most critical advances in medical technology. Funds raised through this golf tournament will be used to update aging diagnostic imaging equipment. up-to-date ultrasound equipment and other diagnostic equipment are essential in getting the right diagnosis and the right medical attention as quickly as possible. Without these tools, our hospital can not do its job of providing the best health care possible close to home – any time off day – all year around. About The South Muskoka Hospital Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is a multi-site healthcare organization created in 2005 through the amalgamation of South Muskoka Memorial Hospital and Algonquin Healthcare Services. MAHC today includes Burk’s Fall and District Health Centre, Huntsville District Memorial Hospital and South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge. MAHC operates 144 beds which include medical, surgical, special care unit, obstetrics, chronic care and long-term care. With an operating budget of $65 million, MAHC provides a broad scope of services and programs that are delivered by approximately 800 staff members and 75 full time physicians.
