The tragic hero is a man of noble stature. He is not an ordinary man, but a man with outstanding quality and greatness about him. His own

destruction is for a greater cause or principle.

Born of Noble Birth: Royalty, admired, has outstanding qualities

•Reversal of Fortune: At some point, the hero loses EVERYTHING and has to start over.

•Moment of Recognition: The hero realizes that he made mistakes and what went wrong. Before his doom, he blames no one but himself.

•Examples: pride, ambition, impulsive, irrational, and so on
